Chapter 16

Bri's pov. Friday, August 17th Part 4.

We head to the restaurant the girls were at. We walk in and find the girls at a table we order and get our food, we start to eat then my pokegear vibrates. I take it from my pocket and check it.

'Bri, I need to talk to you call me as soon as you can.' The message from Ash reads out.

"I'll be back in a little bit I have to make a quick call, Sparks, Lucario come with me." I say as I leave. Sparks on my shoulder and Lucario by my side as soon as we get out of the restaurant I start running to the pokemon center, I jump into one of the chairs and call home. Ash picks up.

"Ash what's the emergency?" I ask panicked.

"Nothing is wrong I just wanted to let you know that mom and I are leaving for Alola tomorrow." He says.

"Ash you realize that that message looked like you were in trouble, right?" I say. He nervously laughs reading it over.

"Yeah, you are right about that. Well since you are here can I ask you a question?" He asks.

"Go for it." I respond.

"Well, every time I think of her I get this warm feeling in my chest and mom has told me that I start to blush. Why is that?" He asks.

"Ash that is love, you like Serena a lot don't you?" I ask.

"Yes, I do, like her a lot, so that is love when you like someone a lot?" He asks.

"Liking someone a lot doesn't mean you love them that way, there are many types of love, like how you love your family, how you love your friends, and finally how you love that one special person in your life which by the way you have said is Serena for you." I say.

"So you are saying that my love forher is different than the way I love our family, and the way I love my travel companions?" He asks.

"Yes that's exactly what I am saying." I say.

"Oh, I get it now." He says.

"Now Ash if you don't mind we'd like to get back to the girls and finish our dinner." I say.

"Oh, yeah, I took you from dinner, yeah go ahead." He says.

"Alright bye Ash love you, tell mom I love her too and have fun in Alola, also if you see professor Kukui tell him I said Hi." I say.

"Alright will do, love you too, Bri." He says. I hang up.

"Sparks, Lucario let's get back to the girls." I say, we start heading back to the restaurant, as we are walking I can make out a guy with a knocked out girl in his arms. I look into their auras, Serena is the girl.

"Lucario get, May, Dawn and the team, Sparks and I will go after him." I tell Lucario then take off running with Sparks.

"STOP RIGHT THERE." I yell at the guy. He starts to run faster. I run at my top speed to catch up to him. I can hear my team gaining on me. Incineroar comes up next to me. Arcanine picks me up and runs, faster than I could, we gain on the guy as I see Serena move.

"Serena we're coming." I say Arcanine gets me close I grab Serena from him and put her in front of me on Arcanine. Sparks grabs the bag off her head.

"Incineroar, Arcanine take Serena, to the girls, Sparks you too, and have Lucario get officer Jenny, I'll hold him till then, and protect her." I say as I jump off Arcanine onto the guy taking him down to the ground. He struggles.

"Stay still make it easier for both of us." I say as I pin him.

"Braviary one, where are you, Braviary one." Comes from a walky talky on his waist. I pin his arms with one hand and take the walky talky.

"Yeah Braviary one is pinned to the ground, this is Bri, I have a message for your leader, no matter what you try, no matter what you do, you will not get me, my brothers or our lovers as you call them, know that whatever force you hit a Ketchum with they will fight back ten times harder, my brothers and I, won't let you hurt anyone." I say into the walky talky. As I hear running behind me I see officer Jenny, an Arcanine, and Lucario. Officer Jenny hand cuffs the dude.

"Bri, this is your father, give up now you'll never be able to face us all not even knowing how to use your power, just join us and we'll be more powerful no one will be able to stop us." He says.

"You may be the other half of my genes but, you will never be my father. We will defeat you, and that's a promise." I say.

"Really when you don't even know where we are yet, I know you are in Rustboro city in Hoenn with three girls, Serena, Dawn, and May, by tomorrow Ash and Delia will be on Akala iland with Red, Yellow, Green, and Blue. Do you really think that those girls who can't even protect themselves can protect you?" My gene doner says.

"They don't need to, It's my job to protect them, not the other way around." I say.

"Really you almost lost Serena tonight." He says with an evil laugh.

"Key word there is almost, meaning I didn't." I say before mouthing to officer Jenny. 'Should I keep this?' She nods. 'Though I may need to take you in to be questioned, so don't leave town." She mouthed.

"Well good luck in facing all the evil teams combined, know you may not come out of this alive." He says.

"Why would that matter." I say before switching it off.

"I'm heading back to my group now if you need me I'm staying at the pokemon center." I say. I start jogging back to my group Serena hugs me as soon as I get there.

"What happened, Bri? Serena won't say anything." May asks concerned.

"I'll tell you all when we get back to the room, for now just know that we are in more danger than I thought we were." I say hugging Serena back. We walk up to the room as a group. Dawn unlocks the door we all get in and I look the door back. I sit on my bed with Serena, I go into her bag, grab her pokeballs, and let Braixen, Pancham, and Sylveon out they immediately start to comfort their trainer.
