Chapter 44

Bri's pov. Thursday, December 27th Part 1

I yawn as I wake up to Aura poking my face.

"Mornin' Aura." I say.

"Sqirt Sqirtle sqirt( good morning, can we have breakfast?)"

"Of course Aura." I say and pick her up into my arms and slide out of the room without waking anyone else. I make her a mix of berries to hold her over, then start to make breakfast, as I am making breakfast Incineroar comes out of our room with Sparks on her shoulder, they start to help me. Sparks washes her tail and mixes the batter while Incineroar sets the table, working together we finish enough pancakes for everyone to have seconds and maybe even thirds, as we finish I hear a combination of alarm clocks go off as everyone trickles out of their rooms they all sit around the table, Incineroar and myself then bring all the pancakes out, we start to eat.

"So we're on vacation what does everyone want to do today?" Marin asks.

"Train with my team." Alain says.

"I want to see what styles the Alola region is known for." Aria says. The rest of them split their decisions between shopping and training.

"Well luckily for you all we can do both, the biggest private battlefield has been rented out for you all to use at your discretion and I know the best stores on the island. Leo would you mind taking Alain and Clemont down to the battlefield, I'll take everyone else shopping plus I need to get Aura a matching bandana." I say

"Yeah no problem you all have fun." Leo says as there is a knock on the door, I open it to see Serena and Ash. I move out of the way so they can come in.

"Serena do you want to go shopping with us?" Bonnie asks Serena.

"Yeah, sure I'll go shopping with you." Serena says.

"Hey, Ash up for some training with, Clemont, Leo and I." Alain says.

"When am I not up for some training?" Ash says. We all head our separate ways, first I took them to the best clothes shop on Akala, the we went window shopping, then into a jewelry store, I scanned the store for any threats, there were none though I did see Dawn looking at the more expensive jewelry and sigh.

"I wish, I could afford this for her." Dawn whispers just barely loud enough for me to hear. I separate from the group for but, leave my team with them, and walk over to Dawn.

"Hey Dawn, whatcha lookin' at?"I ask as she jumps.

"Oh hey Bri, what are you doing here?" she asks. I point over to the group.

"Shopping, what about you, you seem to be upset that you can't afford this stuff from a distance." I say.

"Yeah, I want to get something for someone important to me but, I can't afford this jewelry." She says.

"Well I don't mind buying some for you." I say.

"No, but thank you, It's important that I work for it." Dawn says.

"Well then why don't you help me out by running errands for me, and I'll pay you so you can afford it yourself then, I need someone to do that anyway because while I'm here I can't leave them unattended." I say.

"You would do that for me?" She asks.

"Of course, I will. Though i'm curious who it's for but, I won't pry if you don't want to tell me that's fine." I say.

"No judgement?" She asks.

"Nothing you say could make me think any different of you, Dawn I promise." I assure her.

"Well, I-I like May, like in a romantic way and I want to get her that ring with  the Torchic and Piplup on it, to give to her when I tell her." She says and looks away. I put my hand on her shoulder.

"That's nothing to be ashamed of, May is a wonderful person, you two will be cute together."

"You think she likes me back?" She asks unsure.

"Dawn, by the way you two act around each other, I'd be surprised if she didn't." I say as I walk up to the counter and ask for the ring. "Do you know her ring size, Dawn and yours?" I ask looking to her.

"You're going to buy it and why mine?" She asks.

"Yeah, and in turn if I need anything picked up during this trip you have to go get it, deal?" I ask." And, rings are only special between couples if they both have one."

"Yeah, thank you so much, and I think her ring size is a 7 and mine is a 5." Dawn says I get them and pay for them handing the bag to Dawn.

"You know, Dawn, that it's the thought that counts not the gift you give, but I do think that ring fits your and May's relationship very well and, if you want you can come with us for the rest of our shopping?" I ask.

"Thanks but, no thanks I am heading back to the hotel, to figure out how to give this to her." She says I nod and head back to the group as Dawn leaves not long later we see May walk in, I see her pick up two lockets and have a picture of her and Dawn get put in both of them.

"Can you engrave them both with the phrase 'You, my love, will always be in my heart.'" May asks. I aww at the scene.

"Welp there's our next project, SapphirePearl sounds good for them." I link my team who all nod and I get many replies all saying yes. May sees us and waves, then walks over to us with the lockets in a bag.

"Hey, May whatcha doing out here?" Serena asks.

"Oh, just picking something up, I was just heading back to the hotel, see you guys later." May says and runs out, I smirk.

"They were so close to each other well operation: SapphirePearl has been set in motion."

"I'm excited the last time we did this was operation: ScaldingWater, and that was almost six years ago." Incineroar says through the link, a long with a mix of exited replies from the rest of my team. We then head back to the hotel to see everyone from both groups running up to us looking panicked even Leo.
