Jimin's POV

"Can I be honest with you?"

"What?"

"I don't understand what you see in her."

I glare over at the boy walking beside me. He, on the other hand, does not acknowledge this as he continues to sip his coffee while his eyes are locked forward to the street in front of us.

"What do you mean Jungkook?" My teeth are gritted, without me even noticing.

"Woah chill dude." Jungkook finally takes his eyes off the road and looks over at my direction to see my apparently obvious annoyed state. When I notice this, I let my fists relax and my expression shape into a softer one.

"I'm fine. What were you going to say?" He's my best friend. I respect his opinions. Usually.

"Well, I'm just saying, have you ever seen her talk to anyone? It's weird!"

"No, it's not. She's just shy. That's all." I find myself defending her even though I barely know her at all. "It's kind of cute actually-"

"Okay. Okay! Let's say she's just shy. She's cute!" His hand motions are very expressive as he emphasizes the sarcasm in his comment. I fake glare at his actions.

"Still," he continues, "you have NEVER talked to her in your life! And you still like her! Literally, all you know about her is her face and the fact that she falls asleep a lot in our math class, like seriously, if anything you're just infatuat-"

"I have talked to her though. Yesterday. If she wanted me to be her tutor." Jungkook laughs at my argument.

"Yes. And guess what. She never called you, while I watched you stare at your phone all day."

"...Whatever. It hasn't even been a day. I just need to give her some time."

"Sure..."

He says this again with sarcasm. I swear to god this boy never gives me a break.

We finally make it to our class and walk through the door. Despite all the chaos, as everyone in the room is engaged in noisy conversations, she's the first thing my eyes fall onto.

It's like in the movies, where everything around fades into a blur, all the noise because faint, almost dreamlike. And she's the only thing my eyes can focus on.

Her nose is in a book, somehow able to block out all the chatter that surrounds her. Her head is crouched over and her wavy, black hair hangs down all around her face, like a curtain covering the beautiful view behind it. I continue to stare. She's completely unaware of the attention I give.

That is, until she lifts her head and our eyes meet in an instant.

Shoot.

Before I even have the chance to look away and curse myself for being caught staring, her eyes widen, and she quickly diverts her gaze back to the book in front of her.
