Third Person POV

"Oh my gosh Haeun I've missed you so much!" Hoseok exclaims the moment he sees Haeun and Jimin nearing the pickup truck that he, Jin, and Namjoon are sitting at.

Hoseok can't stop himself from leaping off the back of the truck and running towards the two. Haeun squeals in surprise when he picks her up and spins her around. It's as if they had never stopped seeing each other.

With his arm around Haeun's shoulders, Hoseok continues to walk across the park and back to his friends with her on one side and Jimin on the other.

"Hey Haeun, it's so good to see you again," Jin says, pulling her in into a hug. He isn't as hyper and animated as Hoseok, but Haeun is still able to make out the genuine glee in his eyes.

"It's been so long. I missed you guys," Haeun says. She is smiling on the outside, but internally, she feels that there is a bittersweetness to the moment. Seeing her old friends in person, in the flesh, she can't help but be reminded of the whole year she had lost stuck in a false reality.

But then, she remembers the last conversation she had with Taehyung and how he wanted her to move on, to look forward and think about the present. And so her eyes meet Jimin's.

Her present.

And it's at this point she remembers that they still haven't been introduced to him.

"Oh guys, this is Jimin. He's my, uh—" Haeun struggles to finish her sentence, realizing that they haven't put a label on their relationship yet.

"Boyfriend. I'm her boyfriend," Jimin says, finishing her sentence. The word boyfriend catches Haeun off guard, and she feels herself begin to blush. Noticing her rosy cheeks, a pleased Jimin covertly smirks seeing the effect he has on her. No one else seems to notice this wordless exchange, however, as Jin and Hoseok simply continue to greet and introduce themselves to Jimin.

"Namjoon told us about what happened with Taehyung. I really wish we could've been there for you," Hoseok says regretfully.

"No it's okay. I was the one who pushed you guys away. But let's not talk about that. I want to hear about how you guys have been."

There isn't a moment of silence in their conversation, as the group had a lot to talk about and catch up on. The air is filled with chatter and laughter.

"So when did this happen?" Namjoon questions, hands gesturing towards Jimin and Haeun.

"It happened way too late, if I'm being real honest," Haeun answers. With a giddy smile, Jimin lovingly holds her hand, their eyes connecting as if they were the only two people there.

"Yo what the hell! Jimin?" Hearing the sudden voice, Jimin turns towards the sound. He sees Jungkook, who is accompanied with Yoongi, from the corner of his eye. While walking towards them, Jungkook's eyes are open wide staring at their intertwined hands.

Everyone turns around to see the source of the voice. The surprise on Jungkook's face increases seeing a familiar face he was hoping never to see in person. A similar expression reaches Yoongi's face, but it's too late for the two to turn back around, as everyone had already caught a glimpse of them approaching.

"Hey Jimin, can we talk for a second?" Jungkook whispers to him. Jungkook gives Yoongi a quick apology before leaving him and pulling Jimin to the side. Yoongi is unfazed and goes to greet Namjoon, who he knows from his composition class.

"Oh right I completely forgot to tell you about what happened with Haeun," Jimin says, expecting him to ask about how they suddenly got together.

"No that's not what I want to talk to you about— but like no definitely tell me about that later cause what the hell," he rambles, "but what are you doing around Jung Hoseok?"

"Hoseok? He's an old friend of Haeun. Why do you care about him?"

"Because! I'm kinda interested in Yoongi," he admits, "and I haven't made a move yet but oh my god him seeing his ex again is not gonna help me out." He looks back towards the group, a feeling of jealousy taking over seeing the two steal glances at each other. "Now I'm not even sure if I should say something to him."

Jimin was not expecting to hear that Jungkook had a crush on someone, since he never ever talked to him about crushes. It was getting to the point that Jimin thought his best friend would end up completely alone. It goes without saying that Jimin is quite excited to hear this.

"I can't believe you are actually showing interest in another human being! You should make a move dude! Look how well it turned out for me," Jimin says, still over the moon about his own good fortune and taking every opportunity to talk about it.

"Okay, no offense dude, but I don't have time to pine after him for months before making a move like you," he jokes, but still with a hint of desperation in his voice. "I mean look at them! What if they get back together?"

"Oh shut up. Just start by showing some interest. Come on." Jimin pulls Jungkook back towards the group despite his resistance. Yoongi looks at the two curiously when Jimin nudges Jungkook towards him. There is an awkward energy between them, neither really saying anything, just standing by each other quietly.

Jimin couldn't help but smile seeing his best friend shy around someone for the first time in forever. Finally, their roles have been switched. He couldn't wait to see them get together, and he has no doubt in his mind that it will happen.

Because someone had taught him hope and taught him to believe in the magic of beginnings. That someone puts her arms around him, and Jimin doesn't hesitate to nestle closer to her as the group continues to converse.

Everything is perfect. It's one of the most beautiful times of their lives.

Haeun is surrounded by people she loved. She is finally awake. Finally living.

And Jimin is with the girl he loved. He has finally succeeded in showing her that life is worth living. Is worth staying awake for.

They are finally together, finally happy. And they are ready to explore this new reality together.
