Haeun's POV
"How to do you have like no food in your apartment." I looked up from the book I was reading to see every cabinet in my kitchen open, displaying shelves bare of food.
I shrugged at your question, but then I realized that your face was deep into the fridge and that you couldn't have seen my response. "I don't know. It's not like I cook my own food often."
You made a tsk sound before closing the fridge. You walked over to me and grabbed my wrist, pulling me up from my slouching position on the couch.
"Ughh where are we going? I was getting to the good part of the book."
"To go grocery shopping. I'm not gonna let my girlfriend starve." You said this while grabbing the keys to my apartment that were on the kitchen counter. Before I even had a chance to think through where we were going, or to object any further to being forced to get off the couch, you had already dragged me outside of my apartment room.
When we were finally outside the building, I noticed your hand still wrapped around my wrist, your fast walking causing me to trail behind you as if you're forcing me to follow.
"Taehyung-ah you don't have to keep pulling me. We're already outside." Your grip loosened slightly and I laughed as I saw your blank face when you turned around.
But the ends of your lips instantly curled up into a smile as you slowed your pace so we were walking side by side. You let out a cute "ok" before your fingers moved instead to intertwine with mine. I moved closer to you as we continued walking like this.
--
After we finished shopping and were done with checkout, we both moved to grab the plastic bags that were on the conveyer belt. Our hands ended up touching when we both took hold of the same one.
"Oh Taehyung, I'll take this one. This one's really heavy." One of your eyebrows raised up at my statement. You used your free hand to lightly push mine off of the plastic handle.
"What, you don't think I can carry it? You think I'm going to let you do the heavy work?" I grinned at how childish you were acting.
"What? Taehyung, of course not. I was just saying that-" Before I could finish my sentence, you had moved in front of me to grab all five bags from the conveyer belt, two in one hand, three in the other.
"Taehyung, I know you're strong, but I could still help you know." I laughed as I watched you somewhat struggle to even carry the bags off of the belt.
"Nope, nope you don't have to do anything. I got this." I bit down hard on my lip to try and stop any more laughter from escaping my mouth at your attempt to appear strong and manly. I didn't bother to argue against this, more curious to see how long you would last trying to carry all five bags back to my apartment.
The moment you had gotten the bags securely in your hands, you began walking ahead of me. I could only imagine the strained face you were trying to hide by walking with confident strides. I simply shake my head before catching up with you.
--
"Taehyung-ah~" We were halfway back to my apartment when I decided to play around a little. I could tell you were getting tired and I was feeling a bit playful. I decided to tease you a bit.
"I'm getting a little tired from all this walking...god I'm SO exhausted..." You squinted your eyes at me, not one hint of amusement on your face. I giggled at your expression.
"Yes. Of course. You must be so exhausted carrying your weight all this way." I could even feel the sarcasm dripping from your words. I grinned widely at this.
"Yes thank you for understanding my struggle. Would you mind giving me a piggyback ride the rest of the way?"
"What? Haeun-"
"Great! Thanks!" I didn't even wait for your response before jumping onto your back. By instinct your hands had moved under my legs, keeping me steady even with the bags of groceries still in your hands. You definitely felt the weight of the impact as you started to stumble forward a bit. Surprisingly, you were still able to continue taking a few steps forward, your back completely hunched forward.
"Okay Haeun enough. Please get off." Your voice was strained as you said this. Your walking slowed further to a stop as you kneeled down, urging me to get off your back. Instead, I just wrapped my arms tighter around your neck and locked my legs around your waist.
"Aww but Taehyung I'm exhausted. And you're so strong I know you can make it back." I snuggled my head into the crook of your neck as you let out a groan.
"Okay, no, I'm done." You let the bags fall to the sidewalk so that your hands were now free to try and break my grip on your neck. Your fingers wrapped around my arms tightly as you struggled to pull me off. We were practically wrestling out here in public.
That was until you took one wrong step and ended up collapsing to the floor. We were both a laughing mess on the sidewalk, our limbs in a tangle. We must have looked crazy to anyone walking by.
Although strangely enough, there didn't seem to be anyone around us all day. Even in the grocery store...
"Sorry Tae. I'll help the rest of the way." I basically crawled over to the bags that were placed on the concrete floor to pick up two of them.
"Oh and you can still take the heavy one." I said this in a teasing voice. You made a face before taking one of the bags out of my hand and replacing it with one of yours.
"Oh hell no. You take it." I laughed as you admitted defeat.
--
It was later in the day, all the groceries already packed into the cabinets and fridge. You were sitting on my couch, scrolling through your phone, while I laid on your lap, the book I was reading earlier in my hands.
We stayed like this for who knows how long. And throughout it all, I was able to feel the inhales and exhales of breathing from your stomach.
But other than, we stayed quite still and quiet. I almost didn't give too much thought to you being here as I was immersed in the book I was reading.
But at some point, I felt you stir from under my head. Due to the sudden movement I glanced over the top of my book and saw that you had put away your phone. I sat up from my position on your lap and placed the book to my side.
"Do you have to go somewhere?"
"Yeah I do. Sorry, Haeun-ah."
"No, no it's fine. I'll see you tomorrow." You leaned in to give me a peck on the check.
"See you tomorrow." I gave you a quick smile before laying back down onto the couch. As I did this, I heard the door close behind me.
But right when I heard the click of the door closing, I heard a knocking from outside...
