This morning I heard the most beautiful testimony. Unfortunately it was in Afrikaans and isn't available in English but I still felt the need to share it with you all , so I'll retell it and translate this amazing testimony .
******
A man called Jo Black was going through a really tough time. He had immense financial stress and volunteerd at a small church group leading them in praise and worship . This particular sunday he felt so discouraged and didn't really feel like going to church .
But , he put his church face on and decided to go anyway, nothing really keeping him at home .
After his praise and worship he stepped off stage as a little old lady approached him. She told him , "son , all you need is a little faith like David. " not wanting to lash out at the little old lady especially at church he kept his smile on replying, " ma'am have you ever thought that maybe David didn't have as much faith . That maybe that's why he picked up 5 small pebbles instead of one . Maybe he felt like I did that okay , if I miss or if this one doesn't go the distance I'll have spare for incase . Maybe he was scared and anxious when standing before Goliath and that's why he picked up 4 more , just incase . Maybe he too was doubtful and stressed ."
She listend intenly as he continued and as he finished speaking she just replied . " son , I suspect you like the story of David but you don't quite understand it do you ? Did you know Goliath had his 4 brothers with him that day ? " she asked and left him with that thought .
He didn't take much notice to it -not knowing if it was the truth or not -but it kept bothering him . So he went and did some research and truth be told Goliath wasn't alone that day . It was him, his Brother and three Cousins . But we'll keep it as brothers for the sake of the story not to go off track .
Anyway, it concluded what the little old lady was saying . He went into battle with one pebble and an army behind him when Goliath stood tall and strong -the giant before them- with his 4 brothers at his back . David then picked up another 4 pebbles, not 5 or 6 for incase he missed , 4 . one for each of them because he had faith.
He had faith that even though he was like a tiny ant against 5 Giants that he wouldn't miss.
Even though he was surrounderd by thousands of soldiers all ready to strike at command with their swords and spears , it only took one pebble to end that war before it even began .
*****
Now Jo's Goliath was Financial stress . And it started to get to him . And it came with it's brothers ; inferiority , (the one telling you " don't bother looking anyone in the eyes because you'll never make it look at you !") , and his third brother ; Depression, ( the one laughing at you saying " I can't believe you even think you can stand up towards us , so why don't you come and end this before we do it for you ." ) , and he had the forth brother ; that's the one yelling at him telling him that his wife and children deserves so much better than him .***
He concludes that even though he was too weak to pick up the pebble himself , he had other people throwing pebbles on his behalf. And it all happend at right time at the right place.
60 000 people bought his album, 304 full house concerts , friends , family all throwing pebbles on his behalf , helping him out , supporting him , all of those people who on that one night threw a pebble and ended his war , defeated his Goliath.
***
Now I may not know what y'alls Goliath is it can be ; Cancer , Financial stress , sickness , illness , the fear that your relationship isn't going to last , it can be anything that's taking you down at the moment .
But think of it this way , maybe your Goalith wasn't put infront of you to break and intimidate you, maybe Goalith was put infront of you to awaken the David inside of you .
This is not my original story it all belongs to Jo Black he's the original writer of this testimony I take no credit, but hope you took something from this story. God bless y'all today and on your journey ❤
