Today's verse comes from Ephesians 5: 8 ,
"For ye were sometimes darkness , but now are ye the LIGHT in the Lord: walk as children of light "
I think that often this verse is so over used that it gets worn out but that doesn't mean it looses this VERY important meaning it holds. We were all once children of the darkness, children of the world but the moment we gave our lives to Jesus we became children of the LIGHT. And from there on we should walk , talk and LIVE life as such.
The Bible calls us to be the LIGHT in the world. Verse 19 and 20 says that we must; be FILLED with the SPIRIT speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making MELODY in your heart to the Lord ; giving THANKS for all things unto God and the Father in the NAME of our Lord Jesus Christ.
It doesn't help much that if we're saved and say we're children of the Lord but don't WALK as such right ? We need to be a BRIGHT and SHINING LIGHT unto the world that it won't even be necessary for us to have to SAY why but that everyone will KNOW we're His Children just by looking at us.
Wouldn't that be AMAZING!?
I strive and try my best everyday to live my life as such and find joy and be a light. Though we will get times where we struggle and fall but that's just when we need to look up and get back up and try again.
We're gonna get this right. I know it. It just takes a little time. But in the end , it's all for the Glory of God so why not ?
