John 5.
When the hearts of men are full of PRIDE , AMBITION , and the love OF THE WORLD , there is NO ROOM for the word of God to abide in them.
I study the Bible. I like to study my Bible and for it to look pretty with coloured pens and sticky notes every where. But it is possible for men to be very studious in the letter of the Scriptures , yet to be strangers to it's power. This really opened my eyes to what I was doing... I've been studying my Bible for all the wrong reasons.
I was doing it because it looked pretty, because it looked like to anyone who saw it that ; wow ! She knows what she's doing ! Look at all those writings. And that was very wrong of me and God made that VERY clear to me today in this verse.
We must search the Scriptures for Heaven as our great end; for in them ye think ye have internal life. We must search the Scriptures for CHRIST as the new and living WAY , that leads to this end.
Many who make a great profession of religion, yet show they want the love of God, by their neglect of Christ and contempt of his commandments. It is THE LOVE OF GOD IN US, THE LOVE THAT IS A LIVING, ACTIVE PRINCIPLE IN THE HEART WHICH GOD WILL ACCEPT . This made me realize that even though it wasn't my intention, I was spreading the Word for all the wrong reasons.
"How can those believe , who make PRAISE and APPLAUSE of men their idol ?
I feel so ashamed for the way I have acted. I have on all my social media accounts something that I could add to this that I used for praise and follows even if it wasn't my intention at first. And I am so sorry that I did that. I can tell you all what and where but my case is with God which I need to figure out.
So this will be my last entry until I can start writing for his Glory without thinking about how many comments and followers I'll get by posting.
So this is my verse for today. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE DON'T fall into the pit that is seeking praise and applause for men when doing something for the Lord. I promise you , it's not the way.
