25: Smart Risk-Taker

"Kakashi-Sensei! Why isn't Ro on the mission with us?" Asks Sakura who notices the other girl isn't present.

Kakashi hums. "Well she wasn't feelings so good and had to stay home sick." Kakashi excuses.

Sasuke only narrows his eyes in return to the statement. Obviously Sakura wasn't complaining since she had Sasuke "all to herself" now. Naruto was a bit concerned though.

"Huh? Ro-Chan's sick?! I wanna go check up on her Sensei!" Exclaims Naruto who was ready to run back.

"No!" Kakashi coughs. "No...she requested that no one can visit her she doesn't want anyone else to get sick."

Naruto give it a thought and sighed sadly. "Okay..." He murmurs unsatisfied. But Sasuke was too. With the way that Kakashi lied and how he couldn't confront him right there.

Sasuke visibly clenches his fists only for Kakashi to notice.

"Huh? What's the hold up?! Let's get moving!" Yells Tazuna their drunken client.

Sasuke scoffed angrily before trudging along the path. Sakura soon to follow trying to sway Sasuke with her "charm". But Sasuke already knows of the person for his heart. It just had to be the most troubling girl he met...but it he loved it.

"Thanks for the kunai." I say as the Sand Shinobi wave me off by the gate. I carefully put the kunai on an outer pocket of my bag.

The two guards gave me a smile. "We shall knows your trust and we'll welcome you any time!" One says.

I smiled myself then nodded. "Likewise, I'll probably come back here anyways." I smirked.

"Be careful huh? Your pretty young for a mission like this." They say looking down on me.

"I've heard that a lot ...but if Gaara can take A-Rank missions without a scratch so can I!" I cheered.

Their faces looked a wary but praised my confidence and courage. "Alright Beifong." One says while crossing his arms. The other placed his hands over his hips.

I make a last wave before running off in the distance. "Bye!" I yelled seeing their waves getting farther and farther as I ran.

'Wonder if I can make a sand wave...' I thought halting for a moment. I dug my hands into the grainy texture, foreign to the element.

Then with a twist of my fingers sand enveloped my arms. I stood up and shook the sand off my arms in surprise but awe. I smirked 'Guess that answers it.' I dug my feet into the texture with a grin.

Soon a rumbling noise was heard and the sand became a thick lump beneath my feet. "Well that makes every easy..." I muttered, grinning. Then I slid my way past the hot desert making way for the Hidden Stone.

KAKASHI

Sasuke looked a bit paranoid. Not just by Sakura's useless attempts at flirting but of something else too. He seemed distracted while we walked bit I don't think anyone else noticed.

He looks at me before glare and looking away.

'What did I do?' I think as wondering why he was so mad.

He was a but mad when I told him about Ro being "sick". Is it because he expected to show up? He wished she was here to block out Sakura? Why was he so mad? I could've left my questions as a puddle was in my line of sight.

There laid a puddle on one of the driest summer days in the Land of Fire. Our enemy was either stupid or sent bait to taunt us. But anyway how I pushed my thoughts aside and told myself to focus on this mission. So I did.
