Back Where? [AVATAR X NARUTO]

50: Unsettled

Where are they?! The blonde shinobi glares in the distance as Iruka fixes up his crooked tie.

"Why are you so angry?" Iruka wonders gently while brushing dust off black clothing.

Naruto clenched his fist tightly. "He let them into the village, accepted them and they aren't even here!" He growled at the disrespect. 

Iruka eyes lit up. "You mean... Lucia, Zuko and... Ro?" He hesitantly asked, seeing how angry Naruto was.

"Don't even mention them! Let's... let's just go." Naruto finished as he walked towards the crowd of villagers, all dressed in black with flowers and gifts in their arms.

Everyone had sorrowful expression on their faces, some couldn't even suppress the tears which continued to fall.

Team 7 all gave sympathetic looks except Sasuke who kept his stoic posture. Naruto was affected the most as he was trying not to break into tears. Sakura who surely matured a little was frowning while staring at the large grave. Though she would try leaning on Sasuke for a shoulder to cry on. Sasuke would coldly decline since he already has an interest for the female earth bender who wasn't present.

Where is she? Sasuke thought, glancing around the crowd.

Suddenly, a rumble was heard in the distance as everyone shrieked in fear that they were being attacked once again. Kakashi and a few other Jounin quickly got to action and went towards the noise. But Team 7 followed in pursuit, curious about the ruckus and who would dare try attacking them.

Whoever it was... Naruto was going to kill them.

"Is this good enough?" The earth bender asks her team, looking at the creation.

"I'll fill it with water now!" A water bender boy chirped as water flowed into the empty space.

"I already lit these, so be careful!" The flaming boy warns pointing at the scented flames.

The three stood in front of the giant gates of Konoha where there was an open space that was untouched. They were aware of the funeral though they decided not to attend.

"We have to go soon! Lucia hurry up! They'll think were invaders!" She yells as her and the fire boy wait in suspense.

Lucia puts in the last drop of water. "Where's the letter?" He looks at the other two.

"I got it." Zuko spoke up as he placed it, in front of their creation.

Ro stares before writing something on the side of the memorial they created. Lucia's arm slings around her while Zuko silently watched with slight jealously. But that soon vanished as Ro held his hand. They glanced at each other with agreement. Proud smiles on their faces, they all run out the gates.

"We're too late! They've gone!" Naruto seethed angrily as he looked around. He kicks the dust angrily.

Their faces were flushed with anger and sorrow until the pink-haired Genin spotted something very noticeable in the distance. "No! Naruto, look!" Sakura points at the new statue which was never there before.

Naruto whips his head. His eyes widened along with the other Jounin who arrived soon after. Sasuke stared with an all-knowing look of who could've made it.

It was a beautifully carved statue of the 3rd Hokage, standing tall above the people. It was just outside of the gates but gave a beautiful view to those who saw it. Surrounding the statue, there was a wall made of rock that had water filling it. On top of the water was little candles floating on lily pads. It made the water glisten brightly.
