Back Where? [AVATAR X NARUTO]

41: Understood

We finished the test rather quickly and were left to wait a couple of days. I saw Gaara's team who seemed to have finished the test earlier than us. He glares at me like always but I replied with a smile and wave.

His eyes slightly widen before scowling then turning away. I turn away with a frown since he was being rude as always.

Lucia smiles gently at me and slings his arm around my shoulder. "We finally passed!" He exasperatingly exhales then removes his hair tie, shaking his long locks around.

Strands of his hair brush against my cheek as I giggled in return. Then I turned to Zuko who pulls down his mask and sighs with wisps of fire appearing from his mouth.

"We passed but we weren't first." Zuko disappointingly chimes glancing at Gaara's team. His competitive side was getting to him.

"Psh, second is better than third Zuko and plus we still have four days off or so until half of the others get back." I reminded, trying to encourage Zuko.

"Yeah I guess but if we just came 7 minutes earlier, we could've been first."

As we talked together a Jounin with dark under eyes and a clump of hair over his forehead glanced at us amusingly. He wore a cap almost like Choji and it had the Leaf symbol plate sewn across it.

He coughs then folds his arms together. "Wow, you three just broke the record for fastest Konohagakure team to finish the second stage under 2 hours." He looks down to a pocket watch in his hand and coughs again. "You passed at 1 hour and 56 minutes while the other team passed at 1 hour and 49 minutes."

I playfully punch Zuko's shoulder with a smile. "See we broke a record! Be happy about that!" I exclaimed to Zuko who still seems unimpressed.

His arms were crossed as he inwardly sighs and slouched his shoulders. "I think I'll just go home for today." He cracks his knuckles and neck tiredly before walking off to the nearest exit. Me and Lucia look at each other questioningly before shrugging and deciding to go along with him.

The second proctor Mitarashi Anko runs up to us, heavily panting on her knees before starting at us as if we were crazy. She jabs a finger at my shoulder with a shocked expression.

"So you just fought your way through a forest of death and murder, made it here in one piece with both scrolls, broke a record for fastest team in Konoha to finish this test...and now you guys are just going to leave?!" Anko shrieked with wide eyes.

I blinked owlishly and chuckled. "Yeah," I open up my bag of chips as Zuko takes a kunai from his pouch and twirls it around his finger. Lucia simply runs his fingers through his long locks, holding his hair tie by his teeth. "See you later!" I wave as our little trio walked to find the nearest exit.

"I'm going into town for a little bit." Zuko mused, twirling a kunai around his finger. He waves at us before leaving.

I looked at Lucia. "We have four days or less to spare, what should we do?".

He pressed his thumbnail to his bottom lip, pondering. Then he ties his hair in a messy bun with strands falling loose.

Lucia smiles raising his first finger at me. "How about..." He gives me his hand and spoke "one date," he shyly states with an eye smile.

Sheepishly I laughed then nodded. "Sure." I take his hand as he drags me into town.

KAKASHI

I stride through the busy streets of Konoha trying to avoid Gai who was recklessly choosing me for another challenge. But hearing the sound of his voice just made me dash away faster.
