42: Water, Earth, Fire

The Chuunin exams stage 2 was cut by two days which was a bit impressive. We returned as I noticed Zuko bring his obsidian kunai, which he won at a village event.

Wish I could've seen him win the kunai. But instead I went on a date with Lucia which was still fun and all...but he kissed me by the end of it. I was a blushing mess when Zuko came back so I had to go upstairs and calm down.

We were all prepared and ready while heading towards the forest tower. Lucia held my hand while Zuko just stood along side me. Once we entered I saw the atmosphere tense.

When my eyes glanced at everyone in the room, a ghost frown greeted my lips. First my eyes directly stared at Team 7. Sakura's hair was cut to brush against her neck, Naruto looked so roughed up and beaten. But Sasuke...he made my heart whine. His clothes were ragged and torn while his hair was a mess, I noticed the three black comas on his neck too.

Lucia squeezed my hand noticing that I was tense. It calmed me down as we walked and formed a line along with everyone else. My eyes still stared at Sasuke though, in times like this I wish I was a waterbender... just so I could heal people who look so hurt and broken.

My heart raced as I shift my weight from foot to foot while waiting for instructions. I just wanted to bolt toward Team 7 and ask what can I do to help. Then I hear little cackles and laughs.

My eyes blinked as I looked to who it was. It was the Sound trio. They made it out alive. That boy Zaku had his arms in a cast while the bandaged boy had a cast over his foot. The girl just had the edges of her hair singed with Zuko's fire.

Soon my attention was brought to the third Hokage who stood proudly in front of us.

"I congratulate you for all passing the second stage of the exam." He proclaims with his wrinkled hands behind his back, he puffs up his chest with pride.

But soon he further explains that too many people passed the second exam and that everyone needed to be cut by half again. This resulted in whining and outbursts.

Cough Cough "I'll take it from here Lord-Hokage." The man we saw a few days ago steps up. His raspy voice never failing to surprise me. He further discussed about us not being in teams and how whatever choice we make is independent.

Then I see a hand go up in the air. "I quit." My head turns to a gray haired boy with round rimmed glasses and the Konoha symbol over his forehead.

"Kabuto?!" Naruto quietly hisses in shock with his lips slightly parted.

Kabuto grins then pushed up his glasses. "Sorry Naruto, my body got badly damaged during the second round and I can barely mould chakra." He apologizes while walking towards the proctor.

"Yakushi Kabuto right?" The proctor confirms as Kabuto nods. "Your free to go." Kabuto bows his head slightly before limping off to the exit.

...

"Go Sasuke! If you don't win then I'll pound some sense into ya!" I smack my fist into my palm with a snarky smirk.

Zuko raised a brow. "You seemed pumped."

Instantly I calmed down sheepishly laughing while gripping the metal bars. "Heh..heh, just a fan of fights Zucchini, just a fan of the fights." Earth Rumble 6.

Zuko slightly frowns. Zucchini?

My lips formed a massive grin once Sasuke finished off his match with a final blow. "Lion's Barrage!" He exclaims as his competitor clashes with the ground. Dust clears as the other Konoha ninja was found unconscious.
