Ashley's POV
"Here, this will help the swelling go down." He said to me. He was so sweet. He actually cared about me. He felt bad, even though I assured him it wasn't his fault.
"Thank you." I said. I paused. "I'm Ashley." I said to him he smiled and spoke up.
"My name is Ryan." He told me. What a cute name, and it belonged to a cuter face. "Are you from around here?" He asked.
"No i'm not actually." The truth was, I was from Michigan. I grew up in the suburbs outside of Detroit. I moved to Edmonton to get away from my family, mostly my mother. She was an abusive pig who didn't do anything. My dad wasn't terrible, he actually loved me, but my sister was a total bitch. I hated her. She acted so entitled and better than everyone. The only person I really cared about was my brother, Josh. He was overseas in Afghanistan with the army. I hadn't talked to him in a few months, and I was long overdue.
"Where are you from? Are you from the States?" He asked kindly.
"Yea, I'm from Michigan." I told him.
"Now how did a pretty girl like you end up in Edmonton?" I must have blushed hardcore, because he started laughing.
"I moved up here with a couple of friends. That's who I was with before you got pushed." I told him. He laughed.
We kept talking before a yawn escaped my mouth. "Tired?" He asked me in a soft voice. Wow, was that a turn on.
"Very, I've been up since 9." I told him. He was about to speak before he was interrupted by one of his friends.
"Yea go get it, Ryan!" He yelled.
"Piss off, I'll catch up with you later." He told his friend in an angered tone. His friend walked away shortly after.
"Do you want me to take you home? I haven't had anything to drink all night, and "you look like you need the rest." He asked me.
"That's so sweet of you, but I couldn't impose like that, besides, my friends can drive me." I said. He looked behind me to Alyssa and Nicole, and they were dancing, minus having any sort of coordination. They were piss drunk, and I wasn't exactly sober either.
"They can?" He asked with a smile. I giggled.
"On second thought, if you're willing, a ride home would be fantastic." I told him. He grabbed his keys from his pocket and helped me up.
"What about your friends?" He asked.
"Can you do me a favor about that actually? Can you call them a cab when they're ready to go?" I asked pulling out some money from my wallet, which he immediately turned down.
"It's fine, I'll handle their ride home, as long as they get home safe." He said, with such care. He was such a nice guy.
"They would want the car to be safe. Thank you so much." I said to him. He nodded and we walked out.
"Thank god, my head was pounding from all of that music." I said to him.
"Mine too." He said as he got into the car. I'm kind of glad Ryan said he would pay for a cab to get them home, because Alyssa would want the car to be safe. She stole it from her parents when she left Michigan and drove it all the way to Edmonton. Despite her actions tonight, Alyssa was a genius. Back home, she had a 5.0 GPA in high school and could go to any college she wanted. Nicole was very bright too. Her and I bolstered a 4.5 GPA each, and could go to any school as well. I guess it wasn't smart to run off to Edmonton, but each of our parents told us that we would have to pay for it ourselves because they didn't have the money, and even if they did, they still weren't going to pay a dime for it. We had plenty of grants and scholarships to good schools that are still on the table, but we need to make some money before we leave Edmonton for the school year, and that won't happen until next fall. I guess we would just have to get some sort of job then, I mean we didn't want to work, and we took enough money from our parents to have an apartment for the year, but we would need some sort of income. I think even without degrees, we could still get a decent paying job. We sat in silence most of the time before I decided to break it.
