Chapter 12

(Sorry I haven't updated in awhile! Been busy with personal issues sorry guys!!)

** Month later **

Max's POV

I'm finally all healed up. Collins said it was a miracle that I had healed this fast from my physical and mental injuries. My wolf has calmed down a whole lot. I didn't realize how much he had taken over until he returned, himself, back to normal. It's an amazing feeling to be back to normal. I am more happy, I don't snap at anyone. It's unbelievable with what happened to me. I am glad we caught it in time and not when it was too late.  

Avery is beyond excited that I am now healed and can help her with everything she has planned for the baby.

Today we are going to her first ultrasound. She insisted on waiting until I was better to go to Collins for the ultrasound. He wasn't too happy with her waiting so long for her ultrasound.

"Come on Max we have to get going!" Avery yelled from downstairs. I laughed and grabbed my phone and headed downstairs. I looked at her smiling big.

"Hey baby." I said softly and pulled her into a kiss. Avery hummed and kissed me back before pulling away quickly. "Ok we have to go! Come on!" She said excitedly taking my hand and pulled me out of the door.

I laughed following after her. "Avery! Slow down you are gonna pull my arm out of place!" I gasped laughing at her.

Avery whined and let go of my hand almost making me fall backwards. I whined loudly seeing how upset she got. She was almost in tears! I whined and walked over and pulled her into a tight hug.

"Oh honey, I'm so sorry." I whined and rubbed her back hoping it would calm her down.

Avery sniffled and pressed into me hiccuping. "Let's get going." She whispered and took my hand heading towards the hospital.

I frowned. She was still upset with me I could tell.

Collins smiled seeing us walk into the hospital. "It's about time you two came to get an ultrasound done!" He exclaimed walking over to us.

I blushed red. "Sorry Collins. She insisted on waiting until I was better." I said

Avery looked at us. "Well let's go see what's going on!" She said following Collins to a room.

"Ok just lay down here and lift your shirt." Collins said getting gloves on and wheeling the machine over and grabbed the gel.

Avery whined and did as she was told. I looked over and at her bare stomach smiling seeing the small bump forming.

Collins hummed to himself as he put the gel on her stomach and pushed the camera into her stomach moving it around waiting for a picture to pull up.

I gasped seeing a picture pull up. Avery looked over at me smiling then at the machine. "Well?" She asked

Collins looked at us shocked. "What is it?" I asked worried squeezing Avery's hand some.

"Well um....you two aren't just having one baby....you are having twins." He said and pointed out two little spots in the screen.

Avery gasped and looked at me shocked then Collins. "Twins?" She asked

Collins printed a few pictures and looked at us. "Yes that's right. You must be really careful. Twins are tricky ok? You will eat more. Sleep more. And most of all I want you to stay off your feet once your stomach becomes a little bigger." He said cleaning her stomach off and handing her the pictures.

Avery whined and looked at him. "Ok. Thank you." She said and stood.

I frowned and looked at her then at Collins. Collins smiled at me and sighed heavily. "If you guys need any help I'm just a phone call away or just down the trail." He said.

I nodded and took Avery's hand smiling big. Avery looked at me scared.

"What's wrong sweetheart?" I whispered brushing her cheek softly

"I'm scared." She sobbed tearing up.

I frowned and hugged her tightly rubbing her back. "Oh Avery honey. It's natural to be scared. You and I were both expecting there to only be one baby in there. But don't worry. We can do it ok?" I whispered softly and kissed her head

Avery whined pressing closer to me.

I looked over seeing Lucas walk up to us. "Alpha Taylor and Luna Ruby are here to see you." He said smiling.

I smiled at him and nodded. "Where are they?" I asked softly holding Avery close.

"At the house sir." Lucas said smiling. I smiled and nodded leading Avery towards the house.

"I don't want to see people right now Max, I just was to sleep." Avery whined.

I frowned opening the front door to our house. "I know you do sweetheart but just visit for a few minutes then you can go take a nap ok?" I asked softly and kissed her nose playfully making her smile.

"Max!" Taylor yelled pulling me into a hug. I laughed and hugged him back pulling away. "How are you feeling?" Taylor asked worried.

I shrugged. "I feel great for now at least." I said smiling at him. He hummed and gave me a look before spotting Avery and smiled.

"How are you feeling?" Ruby asked her walking over rubbing her own baby bump.

Avery smiled. "I'm tired. Collins told us we are having twins." She said blushing.

Taylor looked at me shocked. "Twins?" He asked.

I blushed and smiled. "Yes. We are just as shocked as you are." I said and looked at Avery. "Honey you can go take a nap if you'd like." I said whining seeing how tired she was.

Avery looked at me and smiled nodding before saying goodbye and heading up to our room.

"How are you feeling?" Taylor asked looking at me.

I looked at him and sighed. "I feel great right now but I have a feeling it's not over yet. If something traumatic happens again I think it will come back." I said scared.

Taylor frowned looking at me then over at his mate watching her sit down on the couch rubbing her stomach. He sighed and looked at me.

"Listen Max. Our lives are filled with traumatic things. We can't avoid them. You need to find a way to keep him away. You have Avery and twins to think about. Also you have a pack. You need to try your best to keep it under control before the word gets out and to the rouges ok? We are here to help you. Collins will help you and your father." Taylor said setting his hand on my shoulder.

I smiled at him weakly. "I will try my best to find ways. I hope he doesn't surface again for everyone's sake." I said and hugged him tightly.

Taylor hugged me back sighing heavily. "We all hope that." He whispered
