**Three months later**

Max's POV

I groaned loudly waking up slowly. I laid there in bed on my stomach. My face pressed into my pillow. Turning my head and smiling seeing Avery asleep next to me.

Her mouth was slightly open, her hair a mess. She was beautiful. I carefully moved a hand and laid it over her stomach smiling feeling small movements from the twins. Gladly it wasn't enough movement to wake her.

She needs so much sleep. Even though she's been sleeping what feels like nonstop. Ever since her first ultrasound she's been sleeping and eating around the clock.

Sighing I got up and pulled on some sweats and headed downstairs running a hand through my hair. Walking into the kitchen I started a pot of coffee; then started on breakfast.

"I thought I heard you moving around." Lucas said smiling walking into the kitchen. I jumped hearing him and chuckled. "Sorry. What are you doing here so early?" I asked looking at him and poured him a cup of coffee along with myself.

Lucas thanked me taking a sip and sighed. "I came to tell you some news." He said frowning. I turned and looked at him worried. "What is it?" I asked

Lucas sighed. "I got a call from another Beta to the Smith pack. He said that his Luna has gone missing. He's worried that more Luna's will start to disappear. He called to warn me to watch Avery closely. They haven't found and trace to where their Luna went." He said worried.

I choked on my coffee almost spilling it down my bare chest. I looked at him growing angry. The old Max started to appear. The Max everyone thought was gone. "I want a body guard on her at all times when I can't be with her understand?" I asked my voice deep and full of anger

Lucas looked at me shocked. "I ummm...yes Alpha." He said before standing and leaving the kitchen.

I took a deep breath calming down and sighed heavily rubbing the back of my neck. I knew he was still in there. I knew that Collins was wrong when he told me and Avery that he was gone.

I'm not sure if he will ever be gone.

Shelby's POV

I couldn't contain my excitement. I was finally going on a date! Max isn't here to shadow me so I'm free to do as I please. He's stable and in good condition I don't have to worry about becoming Alpha. Which is good I don't ever want to be Alpha. It's not what I want in life

I'm not sure what I want in life but that doesn't matter right now. I'm still young and I have time. My parents haven't been paying attention to me for months now. Ever since Max became sick their attention has been on him. Hell its been like that my whole life.

Sighing heavily I grabbed my black cocktail dress and slipped it on. It hugged my curves perfectly.

Puting my hair up I headed towards the door holding my heals so I wasn't noticed when leaving the house.

Once outside I slipped on my heals and looked around waiting for Mike to come and pick me up. I smiled seeing a car pull up. Walking over I climbed in and smiled at him and buckled.

He wasn't much to look at but I don't mind. Well I do and don't. He's was just so nervous when he asked me out I couldn't say no.

"Ready?" Mike asked smiling at me. I smiled and nodded looking at the road as we drove.

Soon he turned down a dirt road. "I thought we were going to town?" I asked frowning scared.

"Shh!" Mike snapped growling at me. I whined and bit my lip. We came to an abrupt stop outside a cabin. "Get out and don't think about running. There are traps everywhere." Mike snapped and got out.
