Max's POV

I growled in frustration.

"The girls should've been back by now!" I growled slamming my hand down on my desk making some items move. Mason jumped in his seat in front of me. He looked up and sighed. "Max just calm down, if anything was wrong, the guards you sent would've contacted us." Mason said calmly.

I growled at him. Something is wrong, very wrong. I can feel it.

Before I could snap at him, Lucas and a few other warriors burst through the door.

"T...their gone." Lucas said giving us a crazed look.

"WHAT?!" I screamed standing and throwing things off my desk glass shattering once it hit the wall.

"Where are the guards that I sent with them!" I yelled. I could feel my wolf digging at my mind. Most likely my eyes changing colors and my claws growing in.

"O...one was dead where we found them and the other is in surgery right now with Collins. He is trying his hardest to save him so we can talk. Max, there was chloroform found by the guards. They covered their tracks." Lucas said softly.

Tears started to pool in my eyes. No, this can't be happening. Avery can't be missing, not pregnant. Shelby can't be missing. Not when everything was going so good.

It just felt like everything just drained from my body. I backed away from everyone, blocking out all the sound. Everyone was yelling at me, but I couldn't hear them.

I slide down the wall in the corner, pulling my knees up to my chest pulling at my hair. My breath was heavy and hard.

"Max!" I heard someone yell right in front of me making me jump. I looked up through burry eyes at my father.

I grabbed him and hugged him tightly crying into his neck my body shaking from fear. "She can't be gone." I sobbed into his shoulder coughing some from crying even harder.

"Shh Max. Take deep breaths." My father whispered to me rubbing my back. I coughed again grabbing onto his shirt tightly.

I heard the door to my office open and footsteps coming towards us. I could tell my the scent it was my mother. She grabbed me from my father and just held me.

I pressed into her crying more. She can't be gone. She just can't.

Cody's POV

I frowned watching my mate with my son. This is the complete opposite reaction of what I expected from him. I think, out of who knows, were expecting the same reaction I was.

Rose looked over at me with worried eyes. I could tell by that look that she needed me to take over the situation while Max calmed down. If he could.

Sighing, I left the room. I walked down the stairs and looked up seeing Mason, Lucas, and several warriors looking back at me. Mason, you could tell had been crying but has calmed down enough to help gather some people.

"Is Max ok?" Mason asked his voice barely there.

Sighing heavily, "Max is in shock. He doesn't know what to do. He pretty much shut down. To be honest, it is the complete opposite reaction to what I expected. I am sure all of us to expect him to yell and scream and to just barge out there and look for her. As of right now, until he has calmed down and come to his senses on what he wants to do, I will help. Rose was also taken but we found her within 24 hours. I don't know if it will be the same case here. Shelby was taken as well. I have a very strong feeling that whoever took them, Took the Luna to the Smith's pack. Lucas, get on the phone and call the Smith pack, call Alpha Taylor as well. This situation has escalated even more with them now having two Luna's and my daughter." I said and looked at the warriors.

"Go and search the area around were the girls were taken. We may get lucky and they messed up. Leaving behind more evidence. There may also be somewhere that they parked a car. Go out and look." I yelled. The warriors turned and left the house heading towards the woods.

Turning to head back to Max's office. I felt someone grab my arm. I turned and saw Mason. Frowning, I grabbed him and pulled him into a hug. "What do I do?" Mason sobbed.

"Just try your best to calm down Mason. We need you calm before we do anything. Just like Max, we need both of you to be calm before we go out ok?" I whispered and pulled back and looked at him.

Mason wiped his face and nodded hiccupping some. I smiled at him. "Go and wait with Lucas. I will go and check on Max." I said and patted his shoulder and headed back up the stairs to the office.

I opened the door to see Max asleep pressed into his mother. I frowned.

"He cried himself to sleep." Rose whispered and brushed his hair out of his face. I sighed and walked over and kissed her temple.

"Why does this have to happen Cody? I thought we got rid of all those men when I went missing with Claire?" Rose asked looking up at me worried.

"We can't always get rid of them my love. There will always be bad people out there who will try to take the things we love." I whispered and kissed her cheek.

I slipped my arms under his legs and wrapped one around his torso. I lifted him from his mother's lap and headed for his room. Laying him down on his bed. I kissed his forehead and sighed.

Turning, I looked around the room to see photos of him and Avery. All sorts of memories, starting from them playing in the mud as children, to the Alpha Ceremony. Sighing, I left the room and went downstairs to see Alpha Sawyer, Alpha to the Smith pack, and Alpha Taylor.

They turned towards me. "Max is slowly calming down. Once he wakes, I am sure he will go for blood. We need to be prepared for that Max to walk down the stairs." I said and received nods from everyone in the room.

"In the mean time, Sawyer, will you catch us up to date with what you guys have gathered about your mate disappearing?" I asked him.

"Yes." He said and took us into the dining room. The table was covered with papers and a large map in the middle with marking on it. "We think, that these rouges that took the girls, are possibly had some relation to Marcus who took Rose and Claire. These rouge may have been related some how or even in his pack and weren't there when you found them." Sawyer explained.

I nodded and looked down at the map. Before I could even say anything in response. A loud growl came from the door way.

I looked up to see Max. His eyes were yellow from his wolf.

Tension was building in the room. It was like no one was willing to move or even breath right now. Frozen like deer in headlights.

"What are you all starring at?! Get your asses moving and find them!" He yelling making everyone jump and scramble to grab a paper and read through everything.

Sighing, I approached Max. "Max." I whispered. He looked at me his eyes turning back to blue. "Don't worry, I have control, for now. Let's just start working." He said and moved around me and headed towards the map and looked at it.

Frowning, I watched my son. Not even 20 years old and he is already dealing with so much. Maybe I should've staid Alpha a little longer. Shaking my head, I headed back towards the table and listened in on the conversation on what steps we should start to take. Hopefully we find these girls soon. If it takes weeks or months, I am not sure how stable Max will stay..
