When I woke up I wasn't shocked to see that I was back in the castle. I was shocked when I saw Lucas' face only a few inches away from my own.

I was brought out of my slumber from a stinging sensation, I was on the same bed I woke up in when I was first brought here. Lucas was sitting right next to me with a cotton swab in his left hand and a bottle of disinfectant in his other. Even when my eyes opened wide and bright, he didn't hesitate cleaning the fine cuts on my face. All I could do was stare at him while he cleaned me up.

When finished with the task at hand, he set the bottle down on the nightstand my eyes followed the bottle, only looking at the description printed on it rather than looking up at him again.

He sighed. "I told you that I wouldn't hurt you, Dawn." I looked back up at him, his body slouched slightly as he leaned forward with his arms folded.

I opened my mouth to speak, but he cut me off with a glare. "I'm not finished speaking." He said simply.

Still, in my position of sleeping, I sat up slowly. Pushing my body up with my arms. I sat down, letting him speak.

His body looked tired, and his eyes held pain. "I told you that I would never hurt you, and I still would never lay a hand on you. So why do you hurt me?" He yelled with pain in his voice. It was shocking to hear him with his voice raised, he usually had that eerie sense of calmness, even if he was raging in anger. He would still stay calm.

"Because I don't want to be your mate." I whispered.

His face broke, "How could you say that?" He whispered back, hurt very evident in his voice. "You run from me, you hide from me, you say the most hurtful things!" He listed, his hands flying in the air as he yelled. "Every time you say you are not my mate, my heart breaks into a million pieces." His arms fell to his side. "I can only manage to pick up so many pieces."

It was quiet, neither of us said anything as I just looked at his figure.

He cleared his throat. "Seeing as you are still adamant about your false beliefs that I will hurt you and that you are not my mate. You won't have to expect to see my presence anyways." His voice colder than anything I've ever heard from him. "You'll still have to stay here, its a miracle you haven't been eaten alive yet." He added.

My own heart broke, I had to get back to Mandy.

He looked me over once more before he walked out of the room his hands burrowed deeply in his pants. , the door shut on his way out his hands burrowed deeply in his pants. Looks like he found time to dress up. I thought.

I looked down at my own outfit, the clothes Dolores had given me were ruined. Grass stains tainted it, the rips on the shirt ruined it, the blood on the skirt just added the cherry on top. I would have to find a way to repay Dolores. Oh god, Dolores! Would she be in trouble for lying?

I threw the blanket off of me and set my feet on the ground, I was planning to talk to Lucas about not punishing that Dolores in any way, all of this was my fault. But the minute I put pressure on my feet I collapsed in pain. I fell to the ground face first as I groaned in pain. I grabbed my leg and turned over my burning feet, they were covered in tiny cuts from the gravel I ran barefoot on.

I stifled another groan as I heard the door to my room open, I heard footsteps walking over to the other side of the bed where I was laying next to. I looked up and saw Zeke standing there with his arms crossed. He had a smile on his face as he looked down at me.

He bent down to help pick me up and placed me on the bed. He was still laughing.

I huffed. "Why are you laughing?" I asked, not understanding what was so funny.
