Lucas POV:

I woke up to the pounding feeling of my brain jumping up and down. I groaned as I slowly sat up, I blinked quickly to wake up and get the day started when I looked around and saw that I was back in my room. I racked my brain as of how I got here since the last memory I had was getting shit-faced in the kitchen late last night.

I got up and rubbed my face, opening up my curtains to let light into my dark room. Wincing immediately like some sort of vampire, when the suns bright rays hit my eyes.

Throwing the curtains to close again, I made my way out of my room. It was still the early morning hours and I doubted anyone was awake. So I quietly made my way to Dawns room, just to check up on her.

Things did get tense with us after our almost kiss, but I was to heavily blame for that. I just threw myself into work trying desperately to find the three criminals to ensure that Dawn wouldn't have to look over her shoulder in this life again.

I sighed, I really had to make it up to her, she was probably bored out of her mind- especially since Mandy and Penny were gone. I know that Dolores would come to the castle occasionally to check up on her, and how Dawn would return the favor and check up on her too.

Upon reaching her room, I noticed the door opened slightly and light spilling out into the hallway. I furrowed my eyebrows and walked faster towards her room. I hit the door with three loud knocks before sticking my head in. Peering around I saw that the lights were burning bright and her bed was already made.

"Dawn?" I called out. "Are you in here?"

       No response.

Immediately my mind went to a dark place, imagining the worst of the worst. I willed myself to calm down as I started to mind link her.

The minute I did so, a sharp jeering pain presented itself in my brain. I threw my hands up to my head, my fingers squeezing it as I groaned out and cutting off the link.

I took a deep breath and held the door frame to control myself. I blinked back tears that showed themselves during the pain, and I left her room quickly. Running towards the wing of the castle where Zeke was.

It took less than a minute to reach his room. I threw open his door, I saw him sleeping on his stomach completely passed out.

"Zeke. Wake up!" I yelled. Watching as he jerked awake.

He rubbed his own eyes before his head landed back on the pillow. He was clearly fatigued.

"What's wrong?" He said with a yawn.

"I don't know where Dawn is." Zeke immediately sat up upon hearing my voice filled with panic. "I have a bad feeling- I wasn't able to mindlink her."

Zeke was already two steps ahead of me and I saw as his eyes got foggy and far away. It took less than a second for him to break away from it yelling in pain as he mirrored my actions and squeezed his head in agony.

"Shit..." I whispered, before dashing out of the room and down the stairs towards the kitchen.

I looked around the foyer, not seeing a single trace of her. I ran towards my study and looked through the glass doors. Nothing there.
