A couple days prior to Lucas' Bday....

"Should we get a white Christmas tree or... a normal one?" Penny asked, standing behind the front door and adjusting the biggest wreath I've ever seen.

"Are you deadass?" Zeke scoffed from the seat we both had taken, perched upon the stairs. "White? Are you trying to ruin Christmas?"

Penny turned around to look at him with blazing eyes, she dropped down to a squat to pick up a roll of tape and chucked it, sending it flying to Zeke's head. "I don't have time for your smart responses, just give me a damn answer!"

"Ow! Oh, you bitch!" Zeke yelled, "I already gave you an answer!"

"What about you Dawn?" Penny asked as I watched Zeke rub his head. Muttering profanities under his breath.

"Huh?"

She rolled her eyes, "White or nor-"

"You really put white as an option?" Lucas said, entering the foyer out of nowhere, how the hell does he keep coming undetected. "A normal tree."

Penny's mouth dropped, "But-"

"My house my rules," Lucas argued, and I bit back a laugh causing him to turn around and look at me. "What's so funny? Penny was about to ruin Christmas."

He said those words so seriously and that was all it took for me to bellow with laughter. "My house my rules... okay grandpa," I whispered under my breath.

"BAHAHA." Penny laughed, "Grandpa..."

"I'm not a grandpa!" He turned to face me, "Look what you did, she's calling me grandpa through the mind link right now!" He pointed towards Penny who had a smirk on her face.

I shrugged, a small smile on my face.

"Alright, grandpa and grandma." Penny started and my mouth dropped. "This place isn't going to get decorated by itself! Get up, and do something!" She ordered.

Zeke and I got up from the steps as Lucas walked towards the boxes that were around Penny's feet. I reached in and brought up a long strand of Christmas lights. My eyes kept widening as I kept pulling and more and more came out of the box. Finally, it was all out and I dropped my hands and huffed, that took too much time and effort to pull out.

"Those lights wrap around the railing," Penny informed me as she hung up a second wreath on the double doors.

I nodded and left the three by the box, I bent down to plug the lights in, the bright white shining through the tiny bulbs.

"White lights?" Zeke groaned. "What's wrong with the multicolored ones?"

Penny's eye twitched as she tightened her grip on her wreath, it looked like she was about to bash his head in with it. "Because." She seethed out. "The multicolored ones look tacky."

"So do your nails, but I don't say anything." Zeke teased.

Just as Penny looked as if she was about to wrangle Zeke with the wreath, Mandy walked in. Her smile changing the mood of the whole room.

"I made Christmas cookies!" She exclaimed, walking in with a tray full of mouthwatering goods.

Zeke taking Mandy as his godsend, dashed behind her to hide from his seething sister, taking a cookie as he ducked behind her. Mandy spun to face him, but Zeke stayed doing the same, following her so her back would be facing him. He took a bite and immediately stopped in his tracks.

"Damn, Mandy." He said and took another bite. "What you put in these? Crack?" He said as he reached for another one.

Mandy looked around perplexed, "Is that a good thing?..."

Zeke shoved the cookie into his mouth, "The goodest thing."

"Zeke, stop inhaling the cookies." Lucas lectured as he held a strand of mistletoe in his hands.

Everyone dropped what they were doing and walked to grab the crack cookies, except for me. After multiple Christmas' with the same cookies, Mandy would make, the magic would eventually fade. I continued with the task at hand and wrapped the lights around the railing.

"Dawn, come down here!" Penny yelled. "These are so good!"

I shook my head, opening my mouth to speak but getting cut off by Mandy.

"She doesn't like them anymore."

Zeke's eyes bulged out of their sockets. "Are you on crack?!" He said with a mouthful of them in his mouth.

I rolled my eyes and laughed silently to myself, I was about to finish wrapping.

"Who wants to go watch Christmas movies and leave Penny to decorate the whole house," Zeke yelled out, cupping his hands to make his voice heard.

Lucas and Zeke both raised their hands at the same time, and the cookie in Penny's hand snapped in half.

"You both suck major a-"

Mandy quickly interrupted Penny, "Hey, let us all go watch some movies, I'll make more cookies!" Her eyes fell down to the empty tray in her hands.

I skipped down the steps as I tried catching up with the whole lot of them. I caught up to Zeke, while Penny stalked towards the theater room in front of us with Mandy hot on her tail. Lucas walked slowly behind us, typing away on his phone.

Penny entered the room first, while Mandy dashed off to the kitchen to make those cookies.

My eyes zeroed in on something hanging from the door frame, while Zeke and I walked side by side.

"Is that?..." I whispered to myself, Zeke looked up as we both walked under the mistletoe. We both quickly snapped our heads to each other.

"Hell no." Zeke said almost immediately. "That's gotta be some form of incest." And he left me standing there as Penny laughed.

Lucas walked in while I was still standing underneath gaping at Zeke. He didn't take his eyes off his phone as he entered the threshold, while I stared at Zeke who was making himself cozy on the couch, I felt a quick peck on my cheek. I turned to face Lucas who was still typing away on his phone, with the faintest flush on his cheeks.

"Merry Christmas." He snickered.
