The Rejected

Damon sensed something was wrong. He reached over and snatched my phone away from me. "Who the fuck is this? And what the fuck do you need?" he put the phone on speaker allowing me to hear.

"Oh you must be Sage's new alpha boyfriend." I couldn't help but hear the announce in her voice as she spoke. "Is Sage there I would rather talk to her then a mutt."

Damon growled at her until I spoke up. "I'm here mom.. your on speaker.." I mumbled.

"Sage could you take me off so I can talk to you and not some animal." I glared at the phone before picking up and holding it to my ear.

"First things first. One, NEVER call Damon or any other wolf a mutt or animal its rude. Two, I left as fast as I could to get away from your drunk ass and your torture. Three, after I left you have not attempted to contact me for two years. Two fucking years! And the sad part of that is I liked never talking to you. Tell me what the fuck you want so I can hang up and block your number from my phone." Her chuckle ran from the phone and into my ears before she spoke up again.

"Awe Sagey I know you don't mean that. I gave you a roof over your head and food on the table along with clothes to wear." I glared at the floor hearing her speak. 

Damon wrapped his arms around my stomach and pulled me to his chest. "You did that until I turned 10. Then I had to manage for myself. And those things you did for me Didn't make up for all the nights you came home drunk with another man. Didn't make up for some of those men sneaking into my room to touch me while you passed out drunk!" Tears streamed from my eyes as the memories flooded my mind.

Damon growled as he heard me and kissed my cheek wiping away the tears that fell. "Don't speak to me about lies like that Sage! I am your mother you will treat me with respect you stupid whore!"

"That's another thing! every time you saw me you would call me names. Say I am the reason dad walked out on us! Saying I was worth nothing to you! You attempted to trade me for alcohol I lost count of how many times!" I was now full on balling as I hid my face in Damon's chest.

There was a bit of silence before my mom spoke up. "Listen Sage. I didn't call to fight you more. I called to attempt to patch things up with us. I get it I am not the best mother in the world but I am yours. And you are stuck with me. Please lets go out for breakfast tomorrow or something." She sighed into the phone before speaking again. "You can bring this Damon guy as well."

I looked up at Damon who gave me a nod before speaking. "Lunars Diner. 7 am." He grabbed the phone out of my hand bring it to his head. "You start anything I won't hesitate to hurt you." Without giving her enough time to respond he ended the call and looked over at me. "I promise Sage she won't hurt you when I am there."

I smiled at him and kissed his lips softly which he returned.
