I picked up my phone, but before I took a look at it, I raised my head and looked at the man, who was already standing on his feet. His face was alarmed, his eyes wide open, staring at me.
"Did you get that?" He asked, his voice cracking.
"I did... You got it too?" I walked up to him, but he stepped back. Suspicion covered his face.
"What did you do?" His face suddenly went cold.
"What do you mean?" It was my turn to take a step backwards, remembering Namjoon's words. "How long have you been playing?" I questioned.
"About three weeks." He replied, his eyebrow slightly twitching in discomfort. "You?" He asked, his tone becoming threatening.
"About four or five days?" When he heard that, a sigh of relief escaped him. "I'm not that deep." I added knowing what he was thinking.
"I see. You still barely scratched the surface." He agreed and sat back on the couch, his face now buried in his palms. "It's gonna get way worse."
"I already saw what it can do." I sat on the couch too, but furthest away from him. "A student from my school committed suicide, a person I know almost got his friend killed and I no longer exist for people I knew before the game." I explained and mimicked his posture. I felt my hands tremble on my face, my body went cold and tears started forming in my eyes. "Do you know how hard it is to have your parents not recognise you? To be replaced?"
"Shh." Hoseok's friend tried to calm me down, but it only added fuel to the fire. "I'm Min Yoongi, by the way." He introduced himself and when I uncovered my face, I saw him extending his arm. I took a hold of it gently and introduced myself.
"MinJee? That's a beautiful name." He complimented and a warm gummy smile formed on his face, but soon after that it disappeared when he had to look at his phone screen. "Oh god!" He mumbled under his breath and pushed his back against the couch. He closed his eyes and let out a sigh.
"How bad is it?" I asked, knowing that if I stole a look, he'd probably get mad.
"It's gonna be better off if you don't know." He told me before standing up and walking towards the bathroom, slaming the door behind him.
I looked down and widened my eyes at my phone screen.
It was just a picture of Yoongi on the bed showing a peace sign. It's the first time the game had shown me a picture. What does it mean?
I checked my messages too, most of them asking where the hell am I. Jungkook mentioned that nobody remembered me at school when he asked about me. If not asking how I was, Namjoon would remind me to check the group chat. And that I regrettably did.
I had over a hundred messages and I read every single one. I didn't want to miss a single detail about the secrets of the game that they discovered, not that they found anything I don't know about.
Turns out they also received pictures, some had them a couple of days ago and Jungkook and I had them today.
Jungkook had a picture of someone jumping off what seemed like a construction site. He also added that he couldn't make out who it was.
No one knew what the pictures ment and that concerned me.
