Flashback

I gazed towards the clear sky above me, my back pressed gently against the soft grass and my hands played with the soil around me. It was all a distraction.

I'm pregnant, was all that kept running in my head. Her words felt like daggers to my ears, yet I pulled a smile for her. At that time I pulled her closer to me, not to show affection, but to hide the tears that threatened to roll down.
