"I think I was around your age Daniel. I lived in Lilycove city and was happy with my life, I went to school, and tried to live a normal life coexisting with the pokemon that were around me. But then one day I was walking home and had stumbled upon an injured Ralts and I had figured out that she was attacked by some Growlithes. I think they thought she wanted to play and was just a bit too rough on her. When I tried to get the Growlithes to go away, one of them bit me on the arm, but before I could react he was blasted into the tree, and the source...was Ralts. At first a normal person's reaction would be terrified. A small pokemon having that much power was unheard of, but I felt nothing. I decided to take the Ralts in and had raised her into a Kirlia before I had decided it was maybe time to let her go back to her natural home. I didn't have any pokeballs so I couldn't really make her mine and I hadn't thought about becoming a trainer before so that was the decision I made.
Sure enough, Kirlia felt betrayed, and her horn started glowing and she started crying and I didn't know what to do. I had never dealt with anything like this before and I was scared out of my mind. Then out of nowhere comes Steven Stone who tosses me a necklace and says 'Put it on her!', and so I do it cause i had no other options and she was calm. I later found out that Steven had no idea if that stone really could decrease a Pokemon's powers and it was a gamble he took when he learned that stone wasn't ordinary. I decided to buy some pokeballs of my own and capture Kirlia to really make her mine, seeing as how I was being held hostage at that point."
Kyle laughs a bit, and Gallade blushes hitting him on the back of the head.
"Having Kirlia with me, I had started thinking that maybe I was meant to be so much more than an ordinary kid living in the city and maybe I can take this to a new level and become a great trainer, entering tournaments and winning with this newfound power I had, but I needed Kirlia to be evolved so she was much stronger than before. I while passes and I decide i want to evolve her into a Gallade to be designed for fighting. I go out and find the Dawn Stone and remove the Necklace from Kirlia and she evolves into Gallade. From that point on her powers were rarely out of control. I guess from all the training we did, we bonded, and connected, cause I told Gallade I wasn't going to betray her all the time, so she could get it through that stubborn head of hers that I would always care. I hardly invested my time in friends so I was a bit of a solo act when it came to being a trainer but, I was fine with it, I had Gallade and all of my other pokemon so I never felt alone. So I'm sure Gallade to this day never felt alone either".
I look down and lean on my hands thinking about the mistakes I've made trying to raise up my Gardevoir...
"Later in Life I met you Daniel, and noticed that I wasn't the only one who had a special kind of pokemon, but yours was alot different from mine...Gallade was more calm, but Gardevoir is more aggressive...I guess this is proof that pokemon really do have different natures huh, hehe. I sensed that same feeling from when I was deathly afraid of my Kirlia, in yours when we first crossed paths. I didn't want someone to have to go through what I did so I decided to help you and monitor you with the help of Steven. I guess...Steven had other plans when he purposely provoked her".
"But, lets fast forward to Five days ago when Kirlia evolved into Gardevoir...I was leaving Dewford and I knew that by giving you that necklace you were gonna be fine, it worked for me so why wouldnt it work for you, and I was in Verdanturf town getting a pokemon egg at the time when Gallade had sensed your Kirlia going out of control, but it was different. Gallade was afraid..."
A shiver goes down my spine. The same type of pokemon who has basically the same type of powers of Gardevoir was afraid of its own kind.
"So immediately I had my Swellow fly us over to Slateport when we saw the white light. emerging into the sky. I landed and sprinted over to you to try and pull you back but when the explosion happened, you got blown back into me and almost knocked me down if it wasn't for Gallade's Strength to hold up the both of us. I rubbed my eyes and a couple of houses had crumbled in the area around the red sparking Gardevoir who slowly took off her necklace and dropped it on the ground. People ran screaming and terrified. Unbeknownst to us all, Team Magma tried to get involved because they were nearby at the musuem but....", Kyle looked down staying silent.
I looked at Kyle confused and then I looked at Gallade.
Gallade sighed and said, "They were killed..."
My eyes widened and I couldn't accept it...so I laughed, "You gotta be-".
"Daniel....At this point look at where you are...Mauville City Pokemon Center....currently recovering from an incident that could've cost you your life...".
I gulp and lean back into my chair, "Go on..."
"When they were...wiped out...I felt the same fear I did those years ago...and I couldn't move...Gallade snapped me out of it and told me to run, to live to fight another day. I shook my head and began running carrying you on my back towards the bike bridge. But one second while I'm running away from Gardevoir, the next she's right in front of me blocking my path. I froze again but Gallade jumped in front ready to fight. We were both shaking in fear. This was it for me, I thought, I was gonna die here..."
"Gardevoir was charging up some kind of beam and me and Gallade both closed our eyes and everything stopped as the beam came right at us...and then thats when he appeared. A Giant Blastoise stood in front of us with his shell at the beam knocking it away, and I opened my eyes to look at it and it smiled and looked towards Gardevoir. I was shocked, I didn't know what happened until he walked right passed me and said, 'Go, while I give you this chance'".
My curiosity had peaked, "Do you know who he was?".
"I believe they called him the wandering trainer...The Trainer who has no name..."
"Trainer Red..."
