The Real "Stone": Steven

I walk through Granite Cave with partially wet clothing since I didn't bother to dry my clothes after capturing the Shiny Magikarp....that I'm probably never gonna use. I stop and look at the cave around me and I look down at Kirlia who's making her horns glow as a source of light so it's not difficult to see. . .all the Zubats that are going to piss me off.
While I was just thinking about those Zubats, Kirlia had already used her power to make them all drop, hopefully not dead. Terrifyingly efficient, I began walking not thinking much of it like it was normal. I stopped myself before going any further realizing...that I didn't make much of it. I'm becoming desensitized to the fact that Kirlia hurts all these helpless pokemon without a traditional type of mindset. A trainer is supposed to encounter a pokemon with the idea of training an already tame pokemon, or catching the encountered. Not to flat out commit a type of psychological murder. I hold my head with my hand thinking and trying to calm myself down grasping at excuses that I could use to justify what Kirlia is doing. I start to shake, my mind becoming more and more disturbed, when suddenly, Kirlia tugs on my pant leg and smiles a bright an innocent smile and in my head she says, "Just think of it as training..."
My eyes widened a bit in fear until I calmed myself and brought out all of my pokemon; Poochyena, Combusken, and Wingull and I smiled to myself as Kirlia stepped back in confusion.
"If this is training, then why should I let you have all the experience? You're not the only pokemon that I have, Kirlia, and I already give you the special treatment by letting you walk with me. . .Playing favorites is my daily routine with you, time to divert the attention and affection!", I smiled more. The way I said that was almost as if I was saying "Fuck you" to Kirlia, which wasn't my intention, but I think this is a step for me. Instead of being afraid of her, I stood up to her.........wow, that just sounded pathetic. A trainer, bullied by their own pokemon. Man, what has the future champion come to. I keep walking through the cave with Kirlia slightly lagging behind, but not so far that her light couldn't reach passed me to light the way. we encountered Arons, Makuhita's, GOD DAMN ZUBATS, and a slight Abra from time to time. I cycled between pokemon training them each individually so strength could be divided and that I could make them more powerful. I look back at Kirlia as she looks down saddened as she walks a few steps back. I also need pokemon to handle her if she goes berserk again.
Eventually, after walking for a while, I go up another ladder heading deeper into the cave but this room had light in it illuminating the whole room which was caused by the entrance into the caverns. Makes me wonder if I just wasted  my time going into a huge circle when instead I could of  just climbed the ledge. However, while I'm looking for Stone's son, I got to train my pokemon and stand up to the pokemon that's haunting my dreams and eating them. All in all, a very productive day. I see another cave entrance  so I decide to head there, and I return all my pokemon back to their pokeballs, except Kirlia (of course).
Out of that entrance stood a man with Grey hair, and a suit that made him look snazzy and sophisticated. I stood there staring marveling at his brilliance and in that moment I thought to myself, "No way in hell is this guy the crazy old man's son". I took a deep breath and walked over to him and he took notice of me and smiled, "Hello There...". Kirlia, still a bit upset, hid behind my legs still looking down. He took notice of Kirlia and giggled to himself. She does look adorable enough to giggle about it I suppose? "That device you have there. . .", He continued, "It's a PokeNAV. . .". Oh really? I just thought it was a tracking device made just to find a man named Steven. "When Trainers that have PokeNAV's battle, it keeps record of how things went...I think". Its a form of a gps, I don't care about what other functions it has, and what do you mean you think? "Oh Pardon Me...My name is Steven". Aw Crap, this is The Stone's Son. "I'm interested in rare stones, so I travel here and there". This guy sure likes to talk, so this is definitely Stone's son.
"Anyway, Nice to meet you Steven, My name is Daniel. The Upcoming Champion of Hoenn!", I said smiling and pointing at myself with pride. For a second I saw something within his facial expression that made him look interested in me...not in that way, but like...as if I have potential...YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN. "And your father sent me here to give you this letter".
"Oh? A letter for me? I must thank you, You went through all this trouble to deliver that to me", He said as I handed over the letter. In return he gave me a TM. He opened the letter and looked at me smiling, "That TM contains my favorite move Steel Wing".  I look at the disc then I look at my pokeball of Wingull in confusion.
"Thanks man, now I can make use of the CD pocket that my backpack has.....because apparently backpacks need a separate section to carry just CD's", I said happily. Fake happiness.

He reads the letter quickly then folds it up and looks down at my Kirlia almost looking through her and/or examining her very thoroughly as she still looks down hiding behind me. Well that isn't strange at all. Then he speaks, "Your pokemon looks strong, with enough training, then you really could become champion of the Pokemon League one day...at least that's what I think". He walks passed me, "Now I must really hurry along". Well, I think he was a nice guy at least. I smiled to myself seeing as how someone was finally starting to believe in me.

But this is where I was conflicted about how I felt about him.

As he walked back into the cavern, he spoke as if he knew everything from the very beginning. . .and as if he read my past thoughts. He was brave enough to say out loud, "Oh, and that Kirlia. . .I'd get rid of her if I were you. . ."

Then He walked into the caves to leave as Kirlia's horns started glowing brightly again as a sign of her about to go berserk. Her eyes were wide with what seemed like shock and I turned to look at him with horror in my eyes as he disappeared into the shadows.
