For some reason the gym was dark, it was if they were trying to hide something. All my Pokemon didn't seem to pay it any mind. I quickly walk by the guy who stands at the front of the gym. I still don't see the point of him...and why he looks exactly like the guy who works for The Stone.......actually...alot of people in this region look exactly the same...what the fu-

Kirlia tugs on my leg, "You're getting sidetracked". Right! I need to get through this gym, light or no light, clones or no clones. I slowly walk through with my eyes slowly adjusting to the dark and my Pokemon following close behind. I get to a path that turns left or right and I decide to go left. Suddenly my danger senses were tingling. I dropped onto the ground as a a flying kick goes over my head. I look up and I see a girl in training gear land in front of me and demanding me to battle.

I laugh a bit nervously and I look at girl with no anger whatsoever, "Excuse me...this IS the Dewford city gym right?"

Without thinking anything was wrong...AT ALL...about her actions she says to me, "Yeah thats right...you're here to fight our leader for the fighting badge right?".

I get up slowly, "Oh, I'm sorry...it was just my understanding that POKEMON FIGHT EACH OTHER INSTEAD OF HUMANS, I mean seriously, our wars are fought with Pokemon........do we even have wars.......how are our region conflicts solved?......".

Kirlia punched my leg again to point out I'm being sidetracked yet again. I shake my head and look at the girl, "Anyway, Existential crisis aside, You are supposed to fight using Pokemon! not with yourself!".

The girl sighed at me, "You want to make our Pokemon fight..Don't you ever feel like letting loose a bit now and then?"

"Of course...BUT I VICARIOUSLY LIVE IT THROUGH MY POKEMON...".

"Yeah but..."

I cut her off before she could say more, "Poochyena, if she says anything else you can eat her...", And I start to walk passed her. She was going to open her mouth to say something but Poochyena growled loudly which made her shut up. I did the same thing with the other two I ran into when I was stumbling around in the dark. For gym assistants in a gym for fighting, they sure were afraid of a small pooch. I made it to the gym leader and by this time, my Pokemon were bored. Wingull was on my head relaxing, Kirlia was still energetic, Combusken was tired of walking, and poochyena was poochyena...not much to say about him.

The Gym Leader laughs with his hands on his hips, "I see you made it!".

"Yeah, I mean, all things considered it wasn't really that hard, I just needed to get adjusted to the darkness and-"

"I'm Brawly, Dewford's Gym Leader!"

"Oh sure, cut me off when I'm talking...thats great..."

"I've been churned in the rough waves of these parts, and I've grown tough in the pitch black cave!".

"What...does that mean you were beat up by the waves as a kid...were the waves your School bully or something-".

"So you wanted to challenge me? Let's see what you're made of!".

"Can I just get a word in for a split secon-".

Brawly had already sent out his machop. He's quite rude...a buff body builder just taking the initiative I suppose. However, this was a good chance for me. I tell Kirlia to go fight the Machop. She nods at me and her horns start to glow. Moment of truth, time to see if the necklace really is magical. The Machop runs at Kirlia but she stands there with a brightly glowing horn. I hold my breath. Time seemed to slow for a moment but it quickly sped up and I was able to witness the Machop using Low Sweep and Kirlia get knocked into the wall. My eyes wide with shock, a pokemon actually got a hit on the invincible kirlia. I stared for a bit and Kirlia, still a bit stuck to the wall looked down with her eyes wide with insanity, as if the impossible was made possible....and it was.

I grinned but covered it with my hand, I was happy that this was finally a time where her power wouldn't get out of control....and because she looked funny as hell getting knocked into that wall. Karla suddenly had a look of Angry Determination and she pulled herself out of the wall and stretched out her arm to the Machop and before she could use a move I didn't even know she could use yet, I call out to her, "Kirlia! Use Confusion!". She looked at me a bit surprised but it seemed to calm her down for a time and she used confusion and knocked the Machop back a bit. The machop still isn't down?! He would've been one shot by this Overpowered Kirlia. This is working...I can be a normal Pokemon trainer!

I look at Brawly who was smiling the entire time and I look at him and smile back, "We're only getting started!".

I get carried out of the gym by the guy at the front and he sits me down at a nearby bench and I rub spots on my body where I got injured.

The Guy sits next to me, "Well...That was one hell of a Pokemon battle Daniel"

"Yeah...When Kirlia fainted...I had to use Wingull's Wing Attack...I didn't think those walls could bounce water blasts....and I was especially injured by Brawly's closing words...Who says Swamped as a Fighting Type Leader...at least I got this though", I hold up the Fighting Gym Badge. I smile and hold it up the sky in front of the sun. My first real earned Badge. I shed a tear and try not to break out crying entirely.

The attendant from the gym gets up and looks at me, "I wish you good Luck, Champion-to-be.", and with that the smiles and walks back into the gym.

I lean back in on the Bench and I relax. A weight was just lifted off my shoulders...and especially my mind. I couldn't contain it so I cried...I cried and laughed at how ridiculous I must look to the people walking by. After a while, I stop and I wipe my face and look up and around to the town. "Time to be a Champion...". I get up and walk to the Pokemon Center.

.....It was such a Beautiful Necklace...Hard to believe such a small thing could contain so much of that Raw Power.....And For So Long....
