Chapter 28: A Break Through

"SHE WAS WHAT!?" Gray yelled into his phone as he quickly stood up from his damaged desk.

"Fullbuster, sit your ass down," Mr. Hai said as he swiftly pushed up his glasses. Gray only clicked his tongue and dropped himself back into his seat.

"Yeah I just got the news from Romeo. He told me he did everything he could, but he wasn't able to stop the men from taking her," Macao spoke through the phone as she glanced as his son's depressed face.

"Well, he is still a kid. It's understandable that he wasn't able to make any major impact on the situation. He's very brave though," Gray said as she scratched his ear, "did he get any visual on the men?"

"Uh yes. He said that there were two in total. He, however, did not see the driver. One of the man had spiky green hair and he wore a molecule and the other had a rather unusual hairstyle. Half of his head was black, while the other was white as snow. That's about it," Macao explained though the Phone.

"That is quite helpful. They both have an interesting choice of hairstyles, so it won't be hard to find them. The problem is we don't know how much time we have until Wendy is in serious danger," Gray said as he started to rub his chin. He had to come up with some sort of plan to rescue Wendy as quickly as possible and he also had to make sure that she was no where in harm's way.

"GRAY YOU IDIOT! WHAT ARE YOU STILL DOING THERE?! GO TELL BOSS'!" Macao yelled his lungs out through the phone. His statement immediately threw Gray back into reality and out of his train of thought.

"Yeah! On it," Gray spoke as he ended the call. He immediately ran out of the classroom and started to check every neighboring classroom in search of the Boss. Around five minutes later, he grew extremely frustrated, he could not find the Boss anywhere. It was as if he had left the building already, or perhaps halfway out.

On the school's roof stood both the salmon-headed Mafia Boss and the blond-headed girl that he was so fascinated by. During the assembly, Lucy had run out of the auditorium and she had found herself on the roof, just staring at clouds moving and leaning on the fragile rails that prevented her from falling. She would once in a while stare at the ground beneath her, wondering what it would be like if she was born in a different life. Having a different past, present, and perhaps future was something that she would always think about, but this time there was something different. She didn't want to think about it anymore. She wanted to make her thoughts a reality.

Taking in a deep breath and letting go. Lucy took of her backpack and she clutched the golden key that she always worn around her neck. With a single tear slipping out of her eye, she took off the necklace and placed it besides he backpack. She smiled one last time at the necklace before facing towards the rail. She grabbed onto the raid tightly, hesitation was the only thing holding her back right now. Just as she was about to jump on the other side, she froze. Not because of hesitation. But because she heard a voice behind her.

"Don't you dare do it," Natsu said as he started to pant, he had ran after Lucy as quickly as he can as soon as he realized that something was off with her when she stormed out of the assembly. She had that look in her eye. The look that he knew all too well in the past. A look that he prays that he doesn't produce ever again, "I haven't even had a full decent conversation with you."

"What do you want?" Lucy said as she strengthen her grip on the railing, causing it to lean back to her and bend ever so slightly.

"I wanna talk, so get your bitchy little hands off the railing and turn around," Natsu states as he walked closer to Lucy, she was turned around so she couldn't see him moving towards her, but he made sure that he wasn't making too much noise.
