Chapter 37: The Old Can of Worms

"What if we rewrite the stars..." Lucy muttered to herself as she looked out of the window, barley seeing anything as the car was too fast for her eyes to focus on a single thing.

Natsu glanced at the blonde as he tightened his lips. 'Don't tell me big scary Lucy likes musicals' He thought as a little loud snicker accidentally came out of his nostrils.

"What?" Lucy immediately said turning her head to face the pink-headed man. 'Did he hear me? Curse that movie for having such good songs'

"I didn't say anything," Natsu casually said looking the other way. 

"Thought so," The blonde said as she turned back to face the window.

"Attitude missy," Natsu said as he straightens his red tie.

"I have no attitude sir," Lucy answered back, "and do you have something that I can borrow?"

"Borrow? What's wrong with what you have in now?" Natsu asked with a confused expression splat across his face. 

"You can't be serious Natsu? I'm not wearing this. I can't defend myself if something happens?" Lucy said as he angry slowly started to rise. He couldn't possibly expect her to wear such a dress, it would make her look unprofessional or some sort of escort that Natsu hired. She wouldn't let herself fall so far in the business world.

'She's calling his Natsu? The Boss doesn't let anyone call him that. What is that girl trying to do?' Freed thought to himself as he squeezed the wheel a little harder.

"Defend? Who says you have to fight? I'm here to protect you," Natsu said with a smirk and he moved himself a bit closer to the blond and put one of his arms across her shoulders.

"Who's says I need protecting? I can't can kick your pink ass with one hand," Lucy said deviously looking as him as she played with his fingers.

"Oh my, someone who can challenge me and a woman at that," Natsu said smiling as he placed his nose in her hair.

"Well..." Lucy begun to say but stopped as she saw someone very familiar, "STOP THE CAR!"

The green-haired man denies her request as he would only follow orders from his pink-headed boss. He would soon regret his decision as he felt a rock the size of a fist landing a hit on his cheek. The car spun out of control and caused other bystanders and locals to run and hide, scared that they may be hit and killed. Luck was on their side, as they ended up two inches away from a small fruit shopping cart that a little old woman was pushing.

The old woman looked from her cart and became amazed at the sight at such an expensive and shiny car, "Watermelon?"

After composing himself for a few seconds, the green-headed man looked up from his wheel and saw the old woman. He mouthed a polite 'no thank you' and proceeded to glare at the blond woman in the back of his car..well more like his boss's car...only to find that she had no interest in him. Her focus was glued to whatever was behind the car.

The blonde stared at the white Jeep, trying to remember where she had seen it before. Her eyes nearly left their sockets as she saw her best friend come out, followed by her past pink-haired servant. She continued to stare at the scene until she heard the snapping of someone's fingers right next to her ear.

"Lucy! What the hell is wrong with you?!" The salmon-headed man yelled as he tried to get Lucy's attention. After a couple seconds, the girl turned back around and only two words came out of her mouth.

"Go. Now," Lucy said to Freed as she looked towards the ground.

"Excuse me? I do not take any orders from yo-" Freed begun to say, but he immediately ceased his words as he saw the glare that emitting from the back seat. He would not dare to turn around, as he was sure he has felt this presence before. This evil, authority like aura that would kill someone if they dare to threaten or go against it.

"Drive," Lucy said once more as she raised her head and looked out of the window once more, "and don't make me repeat myself." The green-headed man did nothing but slightly nod and started the car once more. The would say nothing to her for the rest of the drive.

"Lucy?" Natsu asked as he was confused on her sudden change in attitude.

"Nothing. That's another day," Lucy responded as she moved her whole body away from the pinkette. He did nothing but nod, understanding that people have their personal problems that they need to figure out on their own. But that was just the problem. Why did he feel like he wanted or needed to be involved with this woman's personal problems.

'I see you've finally made you move mother. Let's just hope that he doesn't do anything yet.' Lucy was in deep thought as she stared at the blue sky slowing evolving into night.

"Are you sure that it was okay for you to drop me off here? I don't want you to get in trouble with the miss," The short blue-headed girl stated as she worriedly looked at her driver.

"Oh it is much fine. I needed the fresh air anyway. Are you okay to go now?" The pink-headed maid asked.

"Yes, I'll be fine. Thank you for the ride Miss Virgo," Levy said as she slightly bowed and ran off into the direction of her home.

Virgo looked on as she saw the blue-headed girl running away from her, gradually getting smaller and smaller the further she walked. Once she was sure that Levy was completely gone, Virgo took her cellphone out of her pocket and called someone.

"It is done Miss"

"Did she see you?"

"I am positive. She was in a car with another person. But I was not able to fully recognize who it was. Should I follow?"

"No. I know my daughter. That girl has a mind of her own. She will come back soon."

"Is there anything else that you would like me to do?"

"No. That is all. Bring the car back and have the other maids make a room."

"Understood."

"Good. Apple."

"Yes Ma'am. Cherry."

Sitting in a mansion with way too many baths and living rooms stood a tall, blonde and beautiful woman overdressed with large formal dress. She stared out the window, tapped on the glass and smiled.

"You'll soon understand why you should be with me. We'll get rid of him once and for all."
