Chapter 23: Him

Beep beep. Beep beep. Beep beep.

The alarm on Lucy's off for the third time this morning. She was no morning person. If she didn't leave soon, she might as well forget about school and go back home.

"Uhhgg," Lucy groaned as she reached to her nightstand and blindly started to tap all over the phone screen, searching for the snooze button once more. When she couldn't find it fast enough, she grew impatient and stood up quickly, "Turn it off." she said as she kept on blindly tapping the phone.

She finally gave in and opened her eyes, with the rays of the sun peering out through the small window, somehow found its way straight towards her eyes. The birds were singing and chirping a beautiful song outside, but she was not having it. She wanted those birds to shut their damn beaks, or else she'll find a way to shut it herself.

Lucy sighed as she dropped herself back onto her bed. If only life for her was this comfortable for her. Just as she was about to doze off for the second time this morning, she heard a ping from her phone: A message.

"Wonder What Levy wanted," She groaned to herself, as she knew that all other contacts in her phone would always call, never text.

She reached for the phone once more and opened up her message. To her surprise, it was Levy, but her message was so un-Levylike.

It's such a hard task to get some sort of contact with you. I hope I see you today, I still need to have a decent conversation. Or at least I deserve to, for all the crap that I put up with. Don't you think so? My little firecracker

Lucy's eyes widen. She knew who it was. How in the hell did he get Levy's Phone. Did he take her to use as a pawn to someone else.

Lucy waited a minute for the reply. But nothing came. Is he trying to get a ride out of her?

Lucy let out a satisfied breath. She was glad that he had not done anything to Levy.

Lucy kept asking more and more questions. She need answers. Why would her mother send someone like him to find her? Is she getting that desperate?
