Winter Blackburn

Locking the house I noticed how lonely it was out here. It wasn't an empty mansion but without people in it seems pale. Even with the roses and the green plants in display.

I shook my thoughts away and head for my car before leaving. A simple Black Lamborghini won't hurt the school's ego, right? Besides, seeing Autumn's red Ferrari, Summer's Bugatti, and Spring's yellow Porsche, mine pales in comparison.

I parked my car in the usual spot next to Autumn's and got out. As usual, the students went staring at me and my car as if I came from a different universe. Sigh. Really? I stared back with my signature expression and cold eyes. Enough to make them look away in fear. Good. They know who they're dealing with.

I walk towards the front doors and the crowd seems to be expecting that so they gave me way. Even when they all look like in a rush. It's an exam day so it's normal for them to become anxious, but not a good reason to lose their respect. I head for my locker but unlike them, I just leaned on it and stared in the open space.

"Winter's on her nerves."

"Yeah. Everyone is. Even the other three."

"I heard something was up. Like someone trespassing their territories."

"That explains it then. The leader of the Four must be in deep thoughts."

I heard some whispers say. I sighed and closed my eyes. The thought of the Hunters making their way to private lands is making my head ache. We've made it clear that if we catch some, we do it the hard way. Seems the Hunters wouldn't listen after all.

"A penny for your thoughts Oh no....
I'll sell it for a dollar
But there'll be so much more after I'm a goner and
Maybe then you'll hear the words that I've been singing
Funny, when you're dead how people starts listening..."

"Shut up, Autumn." I muttered at the new comer with my eyes closed.

"Psshh. And you're quiet as usual. But on edge than before." I can feel her rolling her eyes at me when she opens her locker beside mine.

"Hunters are on our lands. We lose focus, we get caught. Have you found any?" I ask.

She sighs beside me.

"Not a single one. Looks like they've been careful."

"Tsk." -me

"Hey. It's not our fault we can't track them that easily. That was your job, Winter."  She accuses me.

"Yeah. But funny enough, you and Spring are the best predators in the group. We need you to catch them without being caught." I answered irritably.

"Yeah right. I can't disagree to that. But, Winter, we're not as good as you when tracking the enemy. We need to borrow some of your wolves." She explains and I sighed, opening my eyes in response.

"Fine. But you have to give us some of your foxes and tigers in exchange. We have to monitor the South and West equally to avoid having holes."

"OK!"

By the time Autumn replied, the bell rang signalling everyone to rush to their rooms.

"See ya." Autumn bade goodbye and head for the halls. Her scarlet hair flying beautifully in the wind.

I waited for a few minutes before pushing myself off the lockers and walking through the empty hallway. I was about to enter my room when I caught a streak of copper hair run past a few meters away from me. It was quick and in my peripheral vision but I know I saw it. I was about to follow where it went till the classroom door opened. Revealing Miss Mitton, my classroom adviser.
