Winter Blackburn
❇
I sigh as I fold my arms to my chest in frustration.
I can't believe I'm staying in this place. There were no windows in the room, just the light bulbs to light the place. The ground was covered with carpet floor in color blue. I have no complaints about the queen-size bed... Actually I have no complaints about the room at all. The only problem was the chain cuffed on my ankle.
It was long, long enough to reach the bathroom and take a shower. But not enough to leave the place. I can take it off with the right tools, a paper clip and a hair pin should do the trick. Or maybe I could just dislocate my ankle and foot, but I have to play the innocent. Even if it kills me, I have make them think I'm innocent and be one of them.
As I kept staring at the floor, the door slides open, revealing the woman who unlocked my chain earlier. She was expressionless as she bows and walked towards me. She unlocked the chain as she took another step away from me.
"The master calls for your lunch." She says, gesturing me to follow her.
Lunch huh? So it's 12 in the afternoon.
I followed her out of the room as we walked through the halls. We went to the elevator filled with people again and I noticed some of them eyeing me. When we reached two floors down, we got out and went through the halls with tiles as red as blood and the walls looking like marbles.
A large door awaits us as she placed her eye in front of the scanner before the large door opened. She left after that as I walked straight in. I turned to left and found Cavis wearing a smile.
"Hey, Winter. Nice seeing you again. Join us in our di-- lunch." He held his hand out but I ignored it and walked past him.
"Ow. My heart." He says dramatically.
There was a long wooden table with fancy chairs around it as I wandered my eyes through the place. This looked like a palace dining room, it looks similar to Raymond's and my old mansion's.
Cavis pulled me a chair but I'd rather sit on the next one as he chuckles in surprise.
"I've never been turned down like that in my life." He says as he sits down beside me.
"You're becoming more interesting..." He whispers on my ear that I can feel his breath on my neck.
I was about to elbow him when Travil walks in through a different door. He turns to look at us as his eyes sparked suddenly before sitting on the chair where the master of the house usually sits.
"Flirting with my brother or any other member of Retsnom Organization will not solve your problem, Blackburn." He said as he drinks his wine.
I clenched my fists but kept my mouth shut as I glared at him. If only he knew how much I wanted to kill the guy beside me.
I hear another footstep approaching and Kevin sits on the seat in front of Cavis.
"Jason couldn't make it because he's too busy dealing with the intruder." He states as he looked at anywhere but me.
What's his problem?
A few women came in with trays in hand and placed food on our plates as they start to eat. I stared at my food and hear Cavis chuckle.
"Don't worry, baby girl. It's safe. I promise you, only an old man can kill you with food poison. Trust me."
I took a deep breath out.
That's actually not my problem. I just don't have the appetite.
I start to eat as told but felt Travil's eyes on me. Watching my every move.
