Tainted Night

Chapter 23- Bloody coronation part 3

Turning out the palace had three ballrooms not just one like Ella had thought and that night the coronation ceremony and the after party were going to take place in the largest of the three rooms. The ballroom could only be described as HUGE. Ella could almost not see the opposite wall from where she stood with Edward at the door. The ceiling was high above and at least ten circular chandeliers were hanging from it resulting in the room being brightly lit. Paintings of angels and demons were painted on the ceiling. The columns were Corinthian design ones. The bases of the columns were coated in gold and they looked amazing. The floor was made of red marble and the walls were painted a light golden colour. Shocking thought Ella mockingly.

The room was invisibly split into two the first part which was closer to her was obviously the dance floor which was right then vacant as all the guests were seated in the other part of the room which contained a huge U shaped table covered with red silk table cloth. Chairs framed the table and most chairs were already occupied with people. At the farthest wall was a throne where the new king would soon be seated and on the left side of the throne chair was another one which Ella was convinced was for Serena- Johnathan's 'Fiancée'.

"Ella! Edward!" Ella heard her name being called and she snapped her head to look at her best friend who was waving at her madly and telling her to come over. Ella laughed at her friend's action as she placed her hand in Edward's and pulled him to Scarlett and her friends. Scarlett was dressed in a gorgeous blue dress that was strapless. The dress was simple yet it made the red head girl look like an angel as she danced her way to Ella and Edward and gave both of them a hug.

"You look very handsome Edward. Mind ditching your date and sit with me?" Scarlett said with a wink and Edward laughed as he heard Daniel's thoughts when he heard what Scarlett said.

Daniel made his way towards Scarlett and placed his hand on her lower back indicating his ownership and Scarlett laughed as she pointed to him.

"Edward this is Daniel my boyfriend. Daniel this is Ella's mate Edward." Scarlett said introducing the two men to each other. Edward smiled and stretched his hand out for Daniel to shake and Daniel did with his own smile.

"Nice meeting you Edward." Daniel said shaking Edward's hand with maybe a little too much force. Edward chuckled and replied with a 'you too.'

The two couples then made their way towards the rest of the group who were examining them.

"This is Sam and this is Josh his brother." Ella said pointing at the two boys who were grinning largely at Edward as they took turns shaking his hand. "Guys this is Edward." Ella continued as she smiled at her friends.

"We know, we know! Who doesn't know the prince, for God's sake?" Sam teased as he wrapped his arm around Elena's waist as she joined them. Elena was dressed in green dress that was high-waist-ed with silver spaghetti straps. Elena's hair was in a loose up-do. She looked very beautiful as she smiled at Ella and Edward.

"It was about you got here! I thought you were going to miss the coronation ceremony of your own brother Edward!" Elena said in a teasing manner as she leaned into Sam's side. Edward just waved her off as a voice told everyone in the room to sit down and the longest coronation ceremony begun…

Many times during the coronation Johnathan's eyes would fall on Ella and their gaze would lock for a few second before Ella would look away and stare down at the table. Johnathan couldn't ignore the lump that was growing steadily in his throat each time Ella turned away from him. He couldn't ignore the knife that kept twisting at his heart each time he heard her plus rise in fear when he would stare at her too long. He couldn't ignore the pain that twisted inside of him at how much he had hurt her. He had hurt that sweet angel-like girl and he could never forgive himself for it.
