Hide x Kaneki one shots

(Kaneki POV)
Love such a strange feeling, it's everywhere and most people have it... Well everyone, but me. You see I did have it, it just left one day because somebody couldn't love me back. Now I'm alone I have no family which sounds sad, but sometimes I forgot I don't have one. All I had was a boyfriend.. That I do remember.... Wait that also left me. I'm fine though! It's just how life goes sometimes.

I remember it like it was yesterday. The day was going good, I was laying there in my boyfriends arms. Life felt great, but all good things have to come to an end. I said it all the time so I just said it. "I love you Hide"

"Oh um thanks" was all he said. If you think that broke my heart, you are correct. It made me feel like I did something wrong. I eventually realized that maybe this was a sign I couldn't have anything nice in my life.

"That's all? No I love you too?" After I said that I looked at his face he couldn't even look me in the eyes!

"Look Kaneki, I just don't know if I can say something I don't mean. It's nothing on you it's just how I feel." In that moment I knew that I was heartbroken and I felt like I had nothing. I felt pathetic, I relayed on a guy for my happiness. The thing is I don't regret it. After I heard that I just carried on with my life. Well I tried. I haven't heard anything from Hide in a while, maybe we were never meant to be.

(Hide POV)
Love what a strange thing it is, you never know what it's gonna make you do or what to think. I did something stupid because I thought I didn't know what love was.. I now realize that I did. I loved someone... I loved someone a lot, but I let it go. Why? You may ask, well I guess I just couldn't think straight. So when my boyfriend said he loved me I couldn't say it back.. I regret it a lot.

"I love you Hide." Those words reply in my head all the time. I miss him so much, but I messed everything up. Kaneki just understood I couldn't say it back and left. I'm tempted to call him, but I fear he won't answer. Well I will just have to leave with the consequences of my actions.
