Paul's POV

*The next day*

Matt was talking to me about some challenge he wanted me to be in, but I wasn't listening. It's not like I was intentionally ignoring my boss, more like my thoughts were just else where. I felt bad for storming off on Tanner. Today I'll find a way to make up for it. I would've done it sooner, but he didn't work yesterday. Matt was staring at me. Shit, did he ask me a question?

"Uhhh...." I begin.

"You weren't listening were you?" Matt questioned, not mad just stating a fact.

"No, sorry. My mind has been all over the place lately." For a second I thought about spilling everything to Matt. All of it. Everything with Tanner and Woods and emotions and...everything. I don't though, at least not now.

He sighs and shakes his head, "Okay Paul. How about we have a meeting in the conference room at 10? Think you can clear your head for that long?" Matt was only teasing, but I really should've been paying attention the first time. Oh well. Tanner is more important apparently. Tanner...his soft lips. His warm hands. Those amazing blue eyes. I realized I had zoned back out, but Matt had already left. Back to Tanner.

Usually the first thing Tanner does when he comes in is go to mine and Connor's office. Well, after he puts his stuff down. Right on time, I see the man of my dreams standing in the doorway. Our eyes locked and we had a weird staring contest for a second, but then Connor cleared his throat. Immediately we both snapped out of it.

"You guys are weird," Connor mumbled to no one in particular. I rolled my eyes at him.

"So what're you up to today Pauly?" Tanner asked. My face flushed hearing his nickname for me. What a cutie.

"You know, a little bit of this, a little bit of that.."

"So you have no idea."

I burst out laughing, "Yeah pretty much." Tanner laughed along with me.

When we had stopped laughing I saw he was biting his lip and looking at the ground deep in thought. I didn't bring him back to reality or anything, he was too perfect to disturb right now. After a moment he looked up at me and smiled.

"Well if you find any free time in that busy schedule you should come see me." My heart fluttered and I wasn't sure what to say. So instead I nodded my head and he walked off. I wonder....no. Don't get any ideas Paul. I went back to editing a vlog until I had a meeting.

The meeting was at 10am and it was just me and Matt discussing Get Good stuff. This time I managed to actually listen to him, though my brain wanted so badly to wander. It dragged on, but at last the meeting was over. I had a space of time with nothing to do, so I was going to find Tanner.

Orange base was the first place I checked, since his office is there and so is Rekt. As luck would have it, he was sitting right there in his office talking to Gunner. The door was closed so I lightly knocked and waited to here a response. After a second they both said come in. When I walked in Tanner's face seemed to brighten up, but I was probably just imagining it. Gunner glanced between me and him a few times before turning back to his computer and putting his headphones on.

"Hey what's up?" Tanner asked.

"I should be asking you that, you're the one who wanted me to come see you." I replied as I raised my eyebrows at him.

"Oh right..." He trailed off looking at Gunner. Then he stood up and grabbed my hand, "Come on. Let's go outside." I followed him, too focused on us holding hands to object. Our hands fit together so nicely. We walked outside and sat down on top of a picnic table facing each other.

"So what's up buttercup?" I broke the silence first. Curiosity got the best of me.

Tanner reached over and grabbed my hands again, "I was wondering if you, Paul Kennedy, would want to go on a date with me?" I couldn't help but break out into a huge grin, my heart was soaring.

I tried not to sound to overly enthused, "I'd love to Tanner." He smiles back and looks around quickly before leaning in and giving me a kiss. I'm never going to get used to this man kissing me. After the kiss I keep talking, "I want to apologize for how I reacted yesterday...I should've stayed to listen."

Tanner rests his hand on my knee lightly, but still enough to drive me insane, "It's okay. I understand that sometimes emotions just get too overwhelming." I smile because this man is just too damn perfect.

"So, what're we doing for this date," I waggle my eyebrows at him in a joking manner causing him to crack up.

"It's a surprise. But you're going to be leaving your car here over night. I'll come get you after work." Tanner stands up and offers to help me down from the table. We walk back into orange base in silence, but this time it was comfortable. Occasionally our hands would bump into each others and my heart would skip a beat each time. He walked back into his office and I just stood there still in shock. Well so much for staying focused today. This mystery date would be the only thing on my mind.

A/N - Hey. Not dead. Just...meh. But yeah. Here's a chapter. Got some good plans for the future. Not my future....just the story. My future is a mess. ANYWAYS. Cool. I'm gonna go now. WAIT. I have an idea for a new book/fic thing. Just like song based fanfictions with various ships. Suggestions?
