Woods' POV

On my way to Tanner's house, I stopped and got us both some coffee. I'm sure he'll need it. That guy sleeps like a bear. I talked to Gunner about it the day before and he told me where the spare key was. Today Tanner and I were going hiking, whether he liked it or not. Though I'm sure he will considering we talked about it a few days ago. No backing out now. Honestly, I was a little nervous. I'm not even sure what I was nervous about exactly, but sure enough my stomach felt like it was on a roller coaster.

I finally arrived and parked my car. Alright Woods, you can do this, I thought. Nothing better than giving yourself a mini pep-talk in the morning. In the back seat I have all the supplies for the day packed. Two bags, both containing water, band aids, and a small lunch for a surprise picnic. This should go well, and to top it all off the weather was merciful today. The high for today was only 85 degrees (F). Which is surprisingly cool for California this time of the year.

Finally, I get out of the car and walk up to the apartment. I quickly discover the spare key, right were Gunner said it would be, under the mat. Not the best hiding spot guys. As quietly as I could I unlocked the door and opened it slowly. I shut it behind me and took in my surroundings. I had been here before, nothing new. Except…Is that Tanner sleeping on the couch? Chuckling to myself I scoot closer to the sleeping giant. I can do this one of two ways. Scare the shit out of him to wake him up, or be gentle about it. Since I'm dragging him out of bed at 8am I decide to be gentle.

"Hey Tanner," I nudge his shoulder softly, "time to wake up handsome." Tanner grumbles something in coherently and refuses to get up. I roll my eyes at his childish ways. Damn was he cute though. "Tannnerrrr, I got you coffee." He perked up at that and opened his eyes.

"Woods? What're you doing here?" It was clear he was still half asleep. Tanner rubbed his eyes trying to wake up, "This is a dream, isn't it? Pretty boys don't just show up in my apartment." I began blushing furiously. Clearly sleepy Tanner was even more adorable than awake Tanner.

"Not a dream buddy, I'm here to kidnap you. Hiking, remember?" Realization dawns across his face, seeming to wake him up fully. "C'mon big guy, go get dressed. There's coffee waiting for you in the car."

Tanner slowly gets up and looks at me. A smile forms on his lips, and he leans in and kisses my cheek before walking away. This man is killing me. I can't stand how much I like him. A couple of minutes pass before Tanner reemerges from his room. He picked out his typical ripped black jeans and a white shirt, and wore him green flannel with it. I can't help but let out a small chuckle.

"Whattt? You don't think I look good?" He whines

"No, no," more laughter, "I just like that these are your 'hiking' clothes." I look him up and down once more for dramatic effect.

"Hey! I'm wearing a flannel. That's," Tanner struggles to find the right word, "outdoorsy?"

I pay him on the back and gesture for him to walk out the door, "sure, of course." Tanner grabs my hand and hold it for the short distance of our walk. His hand is the sun spreading warmth to the rest of me. I can't help but feel happy around him.
