Author's Note:
I'm going to start using different POVs in my stories. This way you can understand what other characters are thinking, and it helps me tell the story better. (Also makes it more fun to read in my opinion)

~Janelle's POV~

Janelle Rose Applegate. What a stupid name, which sadly belongs to me. I looked into the mirror on my dresser. I hated the way I looked. Straight, jet black hair and I'm as pale as a ghost. I put on makeup and try curling my hair, but it never works.

I hear my phone go off. Just another stupid notification from who knows what. I walk over to my bed and pick up my phone. I see an Instagram notification from Jack. I roll my eyes and open it up.

Hey, Janelle. You didn't
come to our live the other
day, you're probably still
mad at me. Can we just
talk? I'm sorry for
everything I've done...

So now you realize how
much you hurt me after
what, a year? Smh.

I said I'm sorry.

And I said sorry won't fix
things this time. Are you
really that dumb, Jack?

Whatever. But if you change
you're mind.. I'm going out
with the boys later. We'd
love it if you join us.

I will think about it, but
don't get your hopes up.

You're so stubborn.

Some things never change ;)

You see, that's the thing about me and Jack. We can be the most stubborn of people on the face of the planet. It makes me wonder, how did we ever become best friends? I drop my phone onto my bed and sigh. Thoughts kept spinning around in my head. I want to go, I want my best friend back. But yet again, he hurt me. He blew me off when I needed him most, and I did the same exact thing. I hear a knock on my door, it's my mom.

"Come in." I say with another sigh.

"Hi honey, you didn't come down for breakfast. Is everything ok?"

"Yea, I guess." My mom looks at me, she knows I'm lying.

"Really, Janelle. Tell me, what's wrong?" I finally decide to tell me mom what's going on.

"It's Jack.." I say looking down at the floor.

"Jack? You haven't talk to him in so long."

"I know, an guess what. He's in a band, and he's here in California."

"You serious?" My mom says looking at me with a surprised look.

"Yea, I'm being serious." I say with a slight laugh, "I ran into him at the store the other day, it was great seeing him. But I'm still hurt..."

"Oh, Honey. It's ok. But hey, he's here now? Maybe it's fate telling you something." My mom says reassuring me.

"Huh, you think. He invited me to go out with him and his bandmates, but I don't know. I don't know if I'm ready to see him again."

"Well, You already saw him once."

"Yea, and I almost cried my eyes out."

"What do you want to do." She says looking into my eyes.

"Me? I want to go out, but I'm scared that I will get hurt again."

"Well how do you know that's going to happen?"
"I don't.."

"I hope I helped with your decision."

My mom gets up and goes back downstairs. I think to myself for a few minutes and I decided to finally text Jack back.

Ok, I will come. What
time are you picking
me up?

You're coming? Great!
We will be there around
12. Can you send me your
address?

Sure. (address)

Thanks! See you soon
Nellie ;)

Yea... no. Love the attempt
tho <3

I turn my phone off and get changed. Gosh, I haven't gone out for fun in such a long time. I try to find something casual, which is basically my entire closet. I finally decide on a t-shirt and jean shorts.

It's 11:45, so I decide to head downstairs and get something to eat

It's 11:45, so I decide to head downstairs and get something to eat. I see my mom on the phone with someone, probably a co-worker. She puts her finger on her mouth and then points to the pancakes on the counter. I nod my head and take a pancake. Damn, my mom is so good at cooking.

-

After a few minutes I hear a car honking outside. It must be Jack. I wave at my mom, grab my purse and wallet, and head outside. As soon as I open the door, my attention goes straight to the head of noodles in the passenger's seat. I wonder who it might be..

~Jack's POV~

I sit patiently in the van, waiting for Janelle to come out. I watch as she walks down the sidewalk towards the car. Dang, she looks nice.

"Hey, Janelle. Glad you decided to come."

"Me too, don't make me regret it." She says to me with a wink.

"I won't, I promise. Now hop in!" I signal Daniel, who was sitting behind me, to open the door. I can't wait to introduce Janelle to my bros.

"Welcome to our travel vehicle, thing, I guess?" I say awkwardly. Everyone starts to laugh at my terrible use of words.

"Janelle, this is Corbyn." I say pointing to the blonde hair guy in the drivers seat. He waves and makes a silly face.

"Next to you is Daniel."

"Oh, I remember you! You were the dude who almost ran me over with a grocery cart!" Janelle says, point to Daniel.

"Heh, yea. Sorry about that." Daniel says shyly.

"Any who, on the other side of Daniel is Baby Face, aka Zach." I say looking at the boy with rosey cheeks.

"And the old man in the back is Jonah," I say pointing to the boy in the very back.

"Well it's nice to meet you all." Janelle says assuringly. "So, where are going?"

"Places." Corbyn says with a smirk.

"No dip, Sherlock." Zach adds on.

We drive off and all I can think about is Janelle. It's been so long since we've actually hung out. It's a little awkward if I'm going to be honest. I hear Janelle having a casual conversation with Daniel, Zach, and Jonah. I'm glad she gets along with them, or things would of been even more awkward.

I just hope the same happens with me..
