~Janelle's POV~

I rushed into Zach's hospital room, being greeted by him laying helpless on his bed. My heart dropped seeing him in this state, I've been through this too many times already.
The other boys followed me into the room, all of us sitting down on the chairs and couch. My breathing was shallow, not easily handling this situation. I felt a hand slowly grab onto mine, calming me down.

"See, he's ok, Janelle." I heard Jack's voice whisper to me.

I slowly nodded my head, forming a slight smile."How are you feeling, Z?"

Zach turned his head towards me, wincing in pain. "I'm alright, but it hurts just to breathe."

My smile fades away, thinking about the pain that Zach is in. Jack leans onto my shoulder, pulling me into a tight hug.

"It's ok, Bro. I've got her for you." Jack spoke out.

I wasn't sure if Jack had forgiven me, but it felt good to know that I had him with me. Soon, Zach's doctor walked in, but I didn't look up at her. I didn't want her emotions to give away the news, I wanted to hear them myself.

"How is he, Doctor?" Jonah asked quietly, trembling in his voice.

"Will Zach be ok?" Daniel added.

"Well, there is good and bad news. What do you want to hear first, Mr. Herron?" She said calmly.

We all looked at Zach, wanting him to answer. "Bad news first, the good will cover it up." He finally said.

She nodded, "Bad news is, you have multiple back fractures and lost large amounts of blood. You will need surgery to repair your back."

I could see Zach break down inside, hoping for better. We all knew what this meant, he wouldn't be able to perform on stage with the boys.

"Ok, and the good news?" Corbyn spoke out for Zach.

"Well, I know how badly you want to perform with you friends." We nodded, "And I will tell you now, that would be possible."

Zach's face lit up, his smile finally coming back. I knew though, there was a twist.

"Under one condition though," the doctor added. Called it!"

"What is it?" Jack said concerned.

"Mr. Herron will have to go into emergency surgery. Along with that, weeks in a back brace."

"We will do it," I blurted out before anyone could deny.

"Janelle!" I heard Zach shout, but I ignored him. He needs to be with his band, they can't tour without him.

"I will give you all some time to think." The doctor stated, walking out of the room.

I turned to Zach who was staring at me, confused and a little angry.

"We have to, Z. There's no other option." I say, falling to the floor beside his bed.

"What if it doesn't work, though. I wouldn't be able to perform again." I know he wants to do it, but he's scared. I understand, he's only 15 and lives away from his parents.
