10 - Quiet

~Janelle's POV~

It was another boring day. Paige was at school and lord knows what the Why Don't We boys are doing. I was casually on my couch, messing around on my phone, and playing Disney Channel in the background.

     I've been pretty lazy these past couple days. Basically just relaxing at home and doing school every now and then. Strangely, the boys haven't been up to much either. They are usually busy, doing stuff around town. But since the meet up a few days ago, the boys have been very M.I.A. (not a pun) Now that I'm thinking about it, it's actually extremely unusual for the boys to be this inactive. I decided to text them on the group chat.

Hey, guys. You've all been
pretty quiet lately. Is
everything ok? Should I be
worried?

Jojo- Oh, hi Nellie.
Everything's fine, nothing
to worry about.

Ok. Maybe I can come over
later? So we can hang out?

Jojo- Not the best idea
right now.

Why? You said everything was
ok..
Jonah?

Dani- Yep. we're all cool
bye now

Dude. Something is up, I
can tell.

Bean- Of course something
is up. The sky is, the ceiling.

Wow

Bean- Just doing business

Blushie- CORBYN. YOU CANT
TELL HER THAT

Bean- I WAS BEING SARCASTIC
BRO

Blushie- oh

What? Now you got me suspicious

There was no reply after that. I was getting worried now. What was Zach taking about? What kind of 'business'? I need to figure this out.

I get into my car and drive off to the boy's house. They were hiding something. I was thinking about what everyone said.. then I realized it.

Jack! Jack never said anything on the chat. Was it something with him? Was he hurt? I felt my heart start to race at the thought of Jack not being ok. I didn't want to lose him, after everything that has happened. My mind starts to drift off, and I remember something.

"Come on, Jack! You're so slow!" I say giggling.

"Am not. You are just too quick." He grunts.

We continue our way up the tree. As we got higher, the branches got weaker. But I didn't let it faze me. I was used to this tree. Climbing to the top, and looking out over the field.

I looked behind me, and I saw Jack struggling to get up. I giggled. What a slow poke, he needs to practice his tree climbing skills more.
