~Janelle's POV~
The sound of the boy's songs were blasting through my earbuds. My Why Don't We hoodie hung low on me, but kept me warm in this chilly September weather. As I stepped up to familiar front door, a wave of anxiety had filled up inside of me. I have been M.I.A. for the past few weeks, busy with college. That means that I haven't been able to talk to the boys much, I hope that they aren't mad at me.
I hesitantly knocked on the door, patiently waiting for an answer. After a few moments, the door knob turns. As it slowly opens, a bright blue eyed boy appears. A smile instantly appears on his face, seeing me here."Hi, Dani." I said quietly, starting to blush.
"Nellie, is it really you?" He asked excitedly, pulling me into a hug.
"Yep, and I'm here for you anniversary!" I added, my eyes watering from happiness.
"You have no idea how happy I am to see you," Daniel whispered into my ear.
"I can say the exact same."
Daniel brought me inside and led me into the living room. Sitting on the couch was Zach and Corbyn, playing a round of whatever game they were on. Jonah was standing behind them, cheering the two on. I stood there next to Daniel until the game ended, the three finally looking up at us.
"Hey guys," I said excitedly, the three boys staring in shock. "How's your game?"
"Dude, you're here!" Corbyn shouted, but I ushered him to be quiet.
"Shhh, Jack doesn't know I'm here." I giggled.
"I can't believe you're here," Zach added, hopping over the couch to see me.
"Same, it's been so long." Jonah added, casually walking around the couch.
We joined into a group hug, Corbyn and Daniel included.
"What's up with all of the commotion." I heard Jack's voice speak, coming down the stairs.
I stepped out of the way, revealing myself to the head of noodles. "Hey, Jacks."
"Dang, Apple. It's really you," He said, almost shouting.
We ran towards each other, grabbing into a tight hug. It felt good to be in his arms again, I missed Jack so much.
"Happy 1 year," I whispered to him.
"Thanks, Nells." He said, burring my head into his chest.
"Awww, look at the love birds." I heard Corbyn wine in awe, seeing us together.
"Oh, shut up." Jack complained, making me laugh.
"Janelle, we have something to ask you." Daniel spoke, looking at the other boys.
"And it is?" I asked, turning around to face him.
I heard one of the boys scoff as they all look up at Jack,
probably wanting him to ask me."We wanted to know," He started. "If you would want to go out to dinner with us tonight. Would you accept our Invitation?"
A soft giggle left my mouth, "Of course I would."

We pulled up to a fancy restaurant, hungry for some dinner. I stepped out of the car, my hand interlocked with Jack's. The others boys followed behind as we walked into the restaurant.
There were chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, and the tables had amazing decor. It was like I was living a dream, I can't wait to taste the food."So, Janelle. How's Iowa?" Daniel asked as we sat down at our table.
"It's been amazing, but it is a lot of work." I answer, picking up the menu.
The conversation continued and we somehow got it to be about Chipotle, probably Zach's fault. As we were talking, my phone beeped. I tried to take it out, but then Jack slapped my hand.
"No, Turn it Off. We are at a fancy restaurant, Nellie." He said, looking at me sternly.
"Ok, geez." I mumbled, rolling my eyes.
There were quiet laughs coming from the other boys, laughing at the pun that Jack just made. After a while, our food came and we ate. It was delicious, the perfect way to celebrate the boy's achievement.
"If I'm going to be honest guys," I started. "I can't believe that you'd actually want to bring me here."
"Why would you think that, Nellie?" Jack asked, looking at me concerned.
"Yeah, you're our best friend. Why wouldn't we?" Zach added.
"Well one, I was really hoping that you were going to say Why Don't We, Z." I said, causing the boys to laugh. "And two, there's just so many Words I Didn't Say to you guys lately. I thought that you would be mad at me.."
"Janelle, we know how busy you are because of school. If we were mad at you, then we would be the most selfish people ever." Corbyn said, causing a smile to form on my face.
"Yeah, at least you have a reason not to talk to me." Jack mumbled.
I started to laugh, knowing what Jack was talking about. It's crazy how a year go, I hated my best friend with all my guts. We went through our ups and downs, but now here we are. Jack is in a band, with his four brothers. I'm going to collage, studying video editing, something I've wanted to do since I was little. We were living our dreams, together as well.
~Jack's POV~
I laid down on the grass, right next to Janelle. She was scrolling through her social media, probably not realizing that I was here.
"You can't get away from that thing, can you?" I joked, Janelle snapping her head towards me.
"Hahah, totally." She answered sarcastically, turning her phone off.
"I have to say, I'm glad that we are where we are right now." I said, looking into Janelle's eyes.
"What do you mean?"
"We've been through so much. We've been together, and apart. No matter where we are, we always find a way back to each other."
"Like a Boomerang."
"Heh, yeah.. do you really have to leave tomorrow?"
Janelle sighed, "I wish I could stay, Jack. But I have school."
"How long are you going to be gone?"
She hesitated to answer, "I don't know."
We stayed silent and stared up at the stars, the songs from our Invitation EP playing in the background. It was something we used to do as kids, I guess it's all coming back to us again. Just like we said..
We always find a way back, like a Boomerang.
