~Janelle's POV~

It was another Friday afternoon. Paige just got back from school and she is finishing her homework. I was scrolling through my phone, looking at Instagram, Snapchat, and Twitter. While looking through Instagram, I found a video I've already watched a million times.

Yep, there it was. The song I heard Daniel sing over a week ago now has a music video. Came out just as quickly as Taking You, yet I feel like NBK was just released yesterday. My thoughts were interrupted by running coming from the stairs.

"Hey, Janelle. We only have one day left, want to come with me to the beach?" Paige said in an excited tone.

"Why not, I have nothing else to do." I get up off the couch and grab my purse. I notice that Paige has a guitar on her back.

"What's up with the guitar?" I ask curiously.

"I thought that I should practice a little, Daniel said I was natural when I was with him the other day." She added, heading out the door.

I nodded and sighed. Right, the boys. How could I forget about them..

We arrived at the beach, people surfing and tanning. Basically what you would expect from a beach in California, especially L.A. Paige and I found a spot under a tree with shade, and we sat there and talked for a bit. As she spoke, Paige strummed at the guitar. She really is good.

"Can you play something?" I asked her.

"Not yet, I just started learning." Paige answered, keeping her eyes on the strings.

I nodded. "I remember when Jack tried to teach me guitar, I failed miserably."

Paige started laughing and stopped playing. "How about some ice cream? My treat."

"That would be great, Vanilla please." I said looking up at Paige.

"Vanilla? That's it? No sprinkles or something?" She asked confused.

"Just plain Vanilla." She nodded and headed off towards the ice cream stand that was more up the beach.

I looked over at her guitar, just sitting there. I couldn't help but pick it up, I missed this feeling of holding an instrument. The last time I played an instrument was back in Pennsylvania when I used to take band. I sighed and started playing a few notes.
