The cold breeze runs through my hair, the lose curls moving away from my face.
The clouds out and the sky is grey. It's cold but not freezing. The crows cry and the leaves on the trees begin to rustle.
I'm surrounded by Williams family coming to pay their respects. They all wear black and their mouths pulled down into a frown. Some with tears sliding down their faces.
We're in the cemetery now, burying Williams coffin. Next to his father's. Earlier today some people went into my basement and got out the coffin with Williams grandfather in, so they buried him next to his son.
We had the choice to burry him in my garden but something told me he wouldn't like that. Actually I think he did.
Sadly people walk to and from grave stones, placing colourful flowers down by their loved ones who have pasted. I know soon i'll be doing that for William.
All this doesn't feel real, like I could wake up any minute but I know its not a dream.
This is real life and there is nothing I can do to change it. Even though part of me would loves this to be a dream I know I also don't want it to be a fake memory in the very back of my mind.
Someone once told me that you can't get 'dreams' and that they're only bad dreams in disguise. That at first it may seem like its a happy perfect dream and your in your bedroom reading your favourite books or playing your favourite game on your phone but then suddenly your window burst open! Your curtains begin to flap about and the cold darkness if the night sweeps in, the moon glowing as a white faced figure pops up from the ground as he climbs into you room. His clothes ripped and his pale face starts to melt until it turns pitched black. He takes several steps closer to your bed and you begin to scream but nothing comes out. The figure grabs you out of your bed and you begin to swirl into another place, a black room. Suddenly a blinding light shines on you and you find yourself chained to a metal chair. Two faceless men come up to you and greet you. They may seem like the only nice things you've seen since you've gone to sleep but they both grab a knife from behind you. You want to wake up but you can't! No matter how hard you try you just can't. Then one of them slowly lift the knife down towards your leg but you find yourself screaming at the top of your lungs, you sit upright in you bedroom, sweating. Footsteps fill your hall as you mum flings open the door. But its not your mum, its one of the faceless men and the other is by the window. Luckily you eyes fling open, your in you room again, alone, or are you?
I remember when my friend told me that, his way of desperately trying to scare me but it didn't work.
I stand on the short green grass listening to the speeches people wrote on Williams behalf. Slowly as Layla is talking about her younger brother some people put Williams coffin into his grave.
I didn't know him for long but I did feel like i've known him forever.
"You okay?" Theo leans down so he's closer to me and whispers.
"Kind off. Its hard because i've never been to a funeral before and I didn't really want it to be for someone who's quite young." I tell him.
"Yeah I know. He was always like the older brother I never had."
"What about Harry?"
"Oh right, Harry was more of a younger brother and he was barely ever at home."
"Oh."
"Wait, didn't you go to Ben's funeral?"
"No, only William, Lauren and Layla went to that. But earlier I saw his grave and put down some flowers."
