I call Harry to tell him about the houses history, I need to tell him every last detail. I grab my phone from my bedside table, I scroll through my contacts and tap Harry's name. I let out a faint chuckle as I see his picture, me and him making really stupid faces!
I put my phone over my ear and what till the ringing stops and he answers. It takes a few seconds till he amswers. His phone is all ways on loud.
"Hey." Harry whispers.
"Hi, you busy?" I ask, obviously knowing the answer as I hear people talking and laughing in the background.
"Um, yeah i'm on a d... Hanging out with some friends, so yeah, a little!" Was he about to say date? Aww, Harry.
"Oh okay, well I need to tell you something, important... Really important! I'm serious really really important!" I hear Harry laugh and a faint voice I recognise, William.
Oh yeah he went out with him about 3 hours ago. I hope he comes back soon though, I really need to tell him about Abigail!
"Oh okay, sounds really important then! We're nearly finished, is it okay if William comes aswell? He kinda got locked out of his apartment and needs somewhere to go till the locks-man comes around half 6 ish?" Its now 10 to 4, I have plenty of time to show them everything!
"Yeah sure. What time will you be round? Mums making taco's now, they should be ready by 5."
"Um, about that time, anyway, see you then! Bye."
"Bye" I finally say and remove the phone from my ear and end the call.
I have 1 hour and 10 minutes until they are here. I run downstairs to my kitchen where my mum is making tacos. I tell her that Harry and William will be round later for tea and that I need to show them something and that its urgent. She agree's. I have nothing better to do than go see the horses. So I put my riding boats on and body warmer and head outside. My body warmer isn't down up so the lose part of my shirt lifts up and the cool breeze hits me, I forgot I had this bandage one. Come to think about it its irritating a little.
I walk to the yard where the cobblestone path and the wooden buildings are. Out in the paddock I see the little brown and white shetland pony grazing peacefully and the beautiful all chestnut stallion standing looking at me. The sun bounces off his body making it shimmer so bright. Chestnut brown surely is a beautiful colour in the sunlight.
I spend about 15 minutes petting the horses and wandering around the paddock with treats so they would follow me, until I start to get a little bored. Hamaly looks like he could use a brush so I open the paddock gate and walk out. I unlock the tack room and walk in the warm space. I walk around looking at all the rosettes I have won with Altai, who isn't in the paddock, I sure hope he's alright! And the one's I won barrel racing with Harry. I count 17 jumping and cross country rosettes for Altai in the past 2 years, but I don't participate in many competitions, makes me nervous and 8 for barrel racing with Harry as he is the fast and the more controllable one. I walk around looking at the displays and bridles and saddles' what something catches the corner of my eye.
A little door, just like the one in the spare room. But this time a key hanging out of in. I bend down and unlock it. I pull it open and it creaks but to my disappointment its just 3 dusty empty shelves. Damn. Until I see something shimmer in the sunlight. A piece of metal has reflected of the sun and shone in eye. I close it tight and move over a little. I reach out into the dusty cop-web filled middle shelve and grab the small box. Its small but big enough to put a small picture frame in. I un click the hatches and flip them up. I slowly lift the boxes lid and to my surprise, guess what I find. An overturned picture a frame and a small key, like the one that was used to open this door. Maybe its for the spare room loft door or what ever it is!
I take the key out and place it in my pocket. I carefully lift up the the picture frame and put the box on the floor still not looking at the picture. But as soon as I begin to revel the picture the tack room door flung open and Harry bursts in, making me jump and drop the picture causing it the glass cover to smash into small pieces on the floor!
"Harry!" I yell and move the still un-revealed picture overturned and try to pick up as much glass as possible.
William pushes past Harry and rolls his eyes at him and Harry mouths the words 'what?'. William knells down and helps me pick up the glass. He grabs the picture and turns it over.
"Is that the family that lived here before you? Although it does look kinda old." He asks and shows me the photo.
There standing is John, his two boys, Abigail and a woman, but it can't be the mother, she died during child birth! This doesn't make any sense. Harry grabs it off him and sits on the floor with us. He takes the photo out and reads the back.
"1908? Wow, that was long ago!" He laughs.
"But thats when Abigail died!" I say not realising the words left my mouth and both the boys give me a weird look. Oops.
