It is already the second week. Time flies quickly when you have no homework to do. School just started for the day, which means it is time for my "favorite" time of the day, advisory. The bell rings and I groan. I mean hey, advisory is not that bad, but it definitely can be at times. I walk down the hall and put away my unnecessary items that I don't need just yet. All I take with me is a water bottle, a book, and my binder. We never really do anything in advisory anyway.

As soon as I sit down Mablina rushes in, puts down her stuff, and starts singing and dancing. And by dancing, I mean doing jazz hands and skipping across the room. Class had just started, and it wasn't starting very well. Think about it. Would YOU like to have a popular kid dance all over the room and sing off key when you're trying to read a really good book? Well, I sure don't! So I try to tune her out and bury my head deeper in my book and attempt to concentrate.

Then Ms. Horsewhinny comes in. FINALLY Mablina sits down. Even she's a little scared of the teacher. Ms. Horsewhinny takes attendance (as if I WOULDN'T be here) and we get down to business, starting on our class cheer. In the end, we end with "We're with Ms. Horsewhinny, and we're the best! We will all ace every test! While you all study, we'll all play, in the autumn sun all day!" I WAS going to point out that only a few of my classmates had grades above C's, but I don't think the teacher would like that. Yeah, probably not a really truthful cheer for our group. I mean, we started school a week ago and most of them are already failing! Can you believe it? How do you even DO that? I mean, me, I had all A's. So did two others. The rest well... they're not so lucky. They really COULD use some study time! Just when I thought it couldn't get worse, the REAL problem arrives. Ms. Horsewhinny says she likes it and that will be our cheer for the competition. Great. Just great. The speaker erupts with static and turns a into a message from the principal.

"Attention students! The soccer postings have been put out in the gym! If you have signed up for soccer, please come to the gym now!" Then it goes quiet. I immediately raise my hand.

"Ms. Horsewhinny, can I go?" She nods, and I race out the door eager to escape my dreaded advisory class. In the hallway I catch up with my friends and together we run down to the gym and get to the postings first. By the look of it, we all made the team!

"Yes!" we all shriek. Then we come together in a group hug. I hear a "I made it!" and a "I made it too!" coming from behind me, and I look over and see Flash and Bolt patting each other on the back. Great. They made it too. Guess I'm stuck with them even more. Suddenly, Ms. Hornfeather blows her whistle and calls us all up that made it. She starts to explain positions and teammates. Dash, Flash, Bolt (ew), and I are offense. Jackie, Poeny, Luke, and Josh are midfield. That leaves Flit, Patrick, and Carlos for defense, with Bryan for the goalie. Unicity became our aid and uniform designer. I could tell Dash was pleased with the team this year, besides that Bolt was on it. Then Ms. Hornfeather tells us that the first practice was on Wednesday at 6:30 before school starts, dismissing us back to our classes.

"Dash, can you please repeat what I just said?" Ms. Hornfeather asks, looking annoyed at Dash.

"That the first practice is on Wednesday at 6:30." she replies. Huh. I thought she wasn't paying attention either.

"That's right Dash! Remember everyone, Wednesday at 6:30!" Then the bell rings, and it's off to my first real class of the day.
