Chapter 28

Kaylas POV

I woke up in a hospital, what happend was a blur. I noticed someone sleeping on the chairs in the room i was in. It was Cody. I was about to say something to him when the doctor came in.

"Oh good your up!" she said "I'm Doctor Paisley"

"Hi.. uh how long was i asleep for" i asked

"You were asleep for a while, over night we needed to perform surgery and put a sedative on you, its the next day" she said

"Wait.. surgery? I just burnt my hand" I said

"Actually, it was more than that.. your boyfriend (pointing at Cody)  over there told us it was a third degree. We had to fix the damage inside the flesh and stitch your hand back up. Its now wrapped up in some bandages" she said 

"Oh he's not my boyfriend" I said

"You sure? He would not leave the hospital even when you had surgery, he stayed here all night" she said

"Hes a good friend... anyway how long will i have my bandages on?" i asked

"For about a month, since this is a severe burn, the skin takes longer to heal, you will have to change your bandages every night as bacteria could form and infect it" she said

Just then Cody woke up and saw me. 

"Oh thank god your finally awake" he said rushing to my side and holding my non bruised hand

The doctor gave me a 'yeah hes toootally not your boyfriend' look and said "I will bring a persription for some medication to heal the pain when the anasteasia wares off" and walked away

"Thanks for being here" i said smiling 

"Its all my fault, i shouldnt have said that to you, i didnt mean to say it to you at that time" he said

"Its okay, i pushed you too far" i said

"So,, is your hand okay?" he said

"Well, not right now since i had surgery but when it heals it will be" i said jokingly

Cody had a scared expression on his face

"Lighten up" i said lightly pushing him

"Even in a hospital you can still crack a joke" he said

We both laughed

"How long" he said

"A month" i said

"So when we get back, do you need any special care" he said

"Nah i just need help carrying things and she said i shouldnt do much with the hand" i said

"Oh. So about what happend i just wanted to say that-" Cody started to say

"Alright Kayla, here is your medication for when the numbing wears off, apply it during the day and night and you'll be fine, i will leave you to get changed and you are dismissed. Who will be taking you home" Dr Paisley asked

"Me" Cody said

"Alright, if you need anything call me" Dr Paisley said

"Thank you so much" I said

"Your welcome, have a good day" Dr Paisley said and she walked out of room

After i got changed I got into Codys car, we rode in silence. I was hoping he didnt bring the whole having feelings thing for me up again. We finally arrived at the hotel. Cody walked me to my room

"So uh about last night-" Cody started to say

"You dont have to say anything, we'll just pretend it didn't happen" I said faking a smile

"Uh. yeah" he said

"Thanks for everything" I said as i gave him a hug

Cody hugged back with his arms around my waste, we stayed there for a while

When we pulled away we stared into eachothers eyes, we both started leaning in when Alli opened the door

"HEY WELCOME BA- uh whats going on here?" she asked 

We both jumped back "Uh nothing i was just uh.. thanking.. him thats all, so uhh thanks" i said

"Yeah uh no problem, um seeya" he said

"Yeah" i said giving him an awkward high five

I quickly went inside the room and closed the door

"What the hell Kayla! You guys were about the kiss!" Alli said

"I dont know what your talking about" i said denying everything

"But you just-" Alli started to say

"Alli please drop it, im really tired" I said 

It was true today was an exhausting day

"Okay, me gigi, and Ruby are going to go shopping, ill come back and we can go to dinner okay?" Alli said

"Okay, im just going to change and rest" i said

"Okay seeya" Alli said and left the room

I changed into yoga shorts, a lulutemon loose muscle tank with a bandeau under it, climbed into bed and slept

HEYY YALL hope you guys enjoyed this chapter, its kind of a filler because the good stuff comes next! So will Cody ever admit to having feelings for Kayla? When will Kayla stop denying it? Anyway.. Bye loves!
