Chapter 27

Kaylas POV

I honestly had no idea why Alli was acting so weird, like what was that back there? Anyways, we made our way to Jakes house. Let me just say... he had a niceee house like omg. When we entered the back of his house, there was a cute little beach and a bonfire and a couple of chairs were set around. On some tables there were hot cocoa and things to make smores and scewers. Alli saw her friends and went over to them.

"Well this isnt awkward at all" I said to myself

"What isnt awkward?" Someone said behind me

I turned around and it was Jake, he was dressed it khaki shorts and a white vneck showing is abs. He looked hot, it was hard not to stare.

"Oh hey Jake! I..um..nevermind" I said as i looked down

He chuckled "i thought it was cute"

I looked up and smiled at him

"So wanna sit next to me?" he asked

"uhh" I said, nervously "sure"

Jake and I talked for a while when Cody and Gigi walked into the room

We locked eyes, he stared at me and Jake with.. what looked like anger. But im probably misreading things

"Hey guys Join us!" Jake said

Gigi and Cody both pulled up a chair and were cuddling. A part of me wished that i was the one he was cuddling.

After a few laughs, smores, and just plain nonsense, it started to get cold

Jake seemed to notice so he wrapped his arm around my waste. At first it was awkward then after a while i was still cold so i snuggled into his chest.

"Aye mate, getting comfy over there i see" Ruby said

"oooooooooooooh" everyone said

I looked down and blushed. From the corner of my eye i could see Cody staring

I was getting thirsty "Hey jake is there any more hot cocoa left?" 

"Uh i dont think so but i think there is some in the kitchen" He said

"Oh thats fine ill just make some" I said getting up

"Alright. hurry back" He whispered

I was searching for the hot cocoa when Cody entered the kitchen

"Hey codes" I said

"Hey" he said dryly

"um okay, so whats up" I said

"You know, realaxing, enjoying home, NOT HOOKING UP WITH MY BEST FRIEND" he emphasized

I finally found the packet of hot chocolate and turned on the kettle to boil water

"Okay whats up your ass" I asked

"Who said that you could be all cuddly with MY best friend"Cody said

"Um, im not" I said

"Bullshit, i saw you two being all intimate" Cody said

"okay first of all we were NOT intimate, and even if we were why would you care?" I said

"I.. uh.. I just dont want you being that close with him!" Cody said

"Yeah right, since when do you care about anything i do, let alone with another guy" I said

"i.. its complicated" he said

"What is?' i asked

"My feelings" he said

"Feelings for what" i said

"MY FEELINGS FOR YOU!" he yelled

i didnt say anything. i was so.. speechless. I guess i didnt know the kettle was behind me so i stepped back and put my hand on the burning kettle.

I screamed "Oh my god" 

I clutched my hand in pain

"KAYLA  are you okay?" Cody said rushing to my side

"I..i dont know my hand really hurts" i said

"Okay lets see, let me see" he said

I released my hand to reveal, skin an flesh peeled off

"i..i" i stared at the horrible sight, and started crying

"Shh baby its okay, your going to be okay" Cody said pulling me into a hug

"GUYS COME QUICK KAYLAS IN TROUBLE" Cody yelled

Everyone barged in 

"Oh my gosh what the hell happend?!!!!" Alli exclaimed

"She burnt her hand with Jakes kettle.. really really bad.. like third degree burn bad" Cody said

"Jake call the hospital" Alli said

in no time the ambulance came and i was put in a gurny and sent to  the hospital. The last thing i saw was someone holding my hand, telling me it will be okay.
