Chapter 10

Kaylas POV

Before going to the beach, Brad dropped us off at the surf shop. Alli told me to get the wet suit that only covered the top. After that we took our boards and headed off to the ocean.

"Okay so we are going to practice on the sand first" Alli said

"Okay" I said as i set my board on the sand

"So your just going to lie down on your board like this" Alli said showing me

"Got it" i said copying her motions

"Okay now when we get in the water, you are going to paddle out, when you see a wave, your going to paddle towards it. Then your slowly going to get up on your board and balance" Alli said

"Woah thats a lot to take in but, ill do my best, i think its better if you go first though" I said

"Sure thing" Alli said

I watched as Alli took her board and paddled to the ocean. She sat on her board searching for a wave

"See theres a good one right there" Alli said pointing to where the wave was

Alli then got on ther stomach and paddled toward the wave, when it came close enough she slowly got up on her board and balanced herself. Before i knew it she was surfing the wave. She was flawless.

Alli then paddled back to shore and said "Okay now you try"

"Alright" I took a deep breath then paddled out to the ocean

I sat on my board then looked for a good wave, when i saw one i looked back at Alli who confirmed it was a good one. I did exactly what she did and before i knew it i was surfing the wave! it was amazing. Then i fell off my board.. when i returned back to shore the sting of the salt burned my eyes. 

"Oh my god my eyes kill" I said

"You get used to it, not bad for your first time" Alli said

"Thanks, i wish we had summer all year round in Canada so i could do this every day" i said

"Guess you'll have to come to Cali more often" alli said

we both laughed 

"Hey theres this sick froyo place you HAVE to go to, its called Pinkberry" Alli said

"Alright, lets get changed and go" i said

*At Pink berry*

Alli and I sat down with our froyo. I got mango froyo with lychee jelly, and Alli got raspberry froyo with almods.

"So tell me about your life" Alli said

"Well i'm going to be in 11th grade soon, sophmore year was fun" I said

"Have you figured out what you wanna be?" Alli asked

"Yeah a radio DJ, i wanna go to college after high school, i love more hands on things y'know" I said

"Thats cool, i miss public school back home.. all my friends but moving here has been the best experience for me" Alli said

"Yeah, your a model for pastry, you have your own website, and you have your own merch, thats amazing" I said

"You know, you really love looking at the brigh side of things dont you?" Alli said

"Yeah i guess i do" i said

"More people should be liked that" Alli said

We talked a bit more until i had to go home and get everything together for when Cody meets my dad. I texted Cody while Brad was dropping me off home.
