Twelve

Shawn's POV:

Shawn: "that's great ally!!"

Alexa: "I know, but it's so soon...I don't think I can do this..."

Shawn: "yes you can! And I promise I will be right there with you from the moment they put you to sleep, until the moment you wake up. I will not leave your side."

Alexa: "promise?"

Shawn: "promise."

Alexa's POV:

Today is the day. Today is the day that I am getting my kidney transplant. I have never been more nervous or afraid in my entire life, but the idea of having Shawn beside me, and being there right when I wake up was the only thing keeping me somewhat calm.

I was sitting in the surgery prep room. Shawn came in with a box of chocolates and a bouquet of roses.

Shawn: "Ally!" He said coming over and giving me a hug. "I thought I missed you, I thought they took you in already...."

Alexa: "any minute now..." I anxiously looked around, and was on the verge of tears.

I think Shawn could see this because he leaned in and kissed me softly.

Shawn: "everything will be fine" he whispered "your mom is outside, I'm right here, the guys are on their way, we're all here for you."

Alexa: "thank you" I whispered just as the nurse came in to wheel me into the operation room.

Nurse: "ready darling?"

I nodded my head, and before I knew it, I was taken through these big grey doors, and everything went black.

*six hours later*

I opened my eyes. I was back in the prep room. My vision was foggy, and my head was hurting. I looked over at the chair where Shawn was sitting just a couple of hours ago. It was empty, except for the chocolates and flowers he came in with earlier.

He probably just went to the bathroom or something I thought. Five minutes passed. Ten minutes passed. Fifteen minutes passed. Where was he? After twenty minutes, the nurse came in to give me another dose of painkillers.

Nurse: "ah! You're finally awake darling! How are you feeling?"

Alexa: "have you seen the guy that I was with earlier? He came with the flowers and chocolates, and was sitting here when you took me in...

Nurse: "the tall one?"

Alexa: "yes yes! Where did he go?

Nurse: "oh honey...didn't they tell you who the donor was?"

Ahh what a change in events! Did you see that coming? Although this chapter is on the shorter side, it was my favorite chapter to write. I hope you enjoyed! I'll try to bring out chapter thirteen today also, but if not, you can expect it tomorrow! Don't forget to vote and comment below!
