Thirty Six

Alexa's POV:

I slowly inched closer and closer to the door, Aaliyah following me close behind.

Alexa: "wait here" I whispered before leaving the kitchen to go peek through the window, my heart beating rapidly. Did Damien get away? Did something go wrong? Is Shawn alright?

Just as I slowly pushed aside the curtain, I saw Shawn standing there, and instantly unlocked and opened the door, jumping into his arms.

Alexa: "oh my god" I mumbled "thank god you're okay" I was holding onto him so tightly, with no intention of letting go.

Shawn: "hey, hey" he said, breaking the hug before cupping my face with his hands. I hadn't realized until now that I had started crying.

He wiped my tears with his thumb before kissing my forehead and pulling me in for another hug.

Shawn: "I told you not to worry about me, I never want to be the one behind your tears" he said, gently stroking my hair.

Alexa: "I'm sorry, I just couldn't help it. I don't know what I would have done if something happened to you"

Shawn's POV:

Aaliyah: "Lexa, I think the cookies are ready.." she said walking into the room.

The moment she saw me, I saw her eyes light up and she ran towards me, giving me a hug. She can always put an instant smile on my face, even after the most intense night of my life.

Aaliyah: "Lexa and I made cookies! Come!" She grabbed my hand, leading me towards the kitchen.

Shawn: "Lexa?" I asked, turning towards Alexa who was walking next to me.

Alexa: "yeah, lets just say we bonded a lot the last few hours" she said smiling at me.

That was honestly the best thing she could have said at that moment. My sister and my girlfriend. Them getting along was so important to me, and nothing could have made me happier than what came next.

Aaliyah: "Lexa! Lexa! Come, I think they're burning!"

Alexa: "coming Liyah!" She sprinted over to the oven, put on oven mitts in the blink of an eye, and pulled the cookies out of the oven.

She set them down on the counter before high-fiving Aaliyah, and the both of them burst into laughter. My heart felt so full, and nothing makes me happier than the two of them voluntarily wanting spending them together.
