"Broken"

Twenty

Shawn's POV:

Shawn: "hey, are you okay?" I asked with concern in my voice

Alexa: "y-yeah, I'm fine" she stuttered while wiping her eyes and forcing a smile.

Shawn: "Ally, please talk to me. We promised to be honest with each other."

Alexa: "Shawn, this really isn't the time or place, but I promise I'll tell you, just not right now."

Before I could respond, she parked the car and opened her seatbelt. I looked out the window, and saw a bunch of carnival rides, flashing lights, and a very large ferris wheel towering over everything else in the vicinity.

I got out of the car, and we headed towards the theme park. I took her hand in mine and intertwined our fingers as we walked.

First, Alexa had all of these rides in mind that "we absolutely have to go on!" So we went on a few rollercoasters, bumper cars, and even those giant mechanical swings that go upside down and extremely fast. For our last ride, we went on the ferris wheel. It went very slow, but it was a nice kind of slow. I looked over the entire theme park, and it took my breath away. It was 10:30pm, and the park closes at 11, so there weren't that many people here. When we reached the very top, I felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked at Alexa, who was also looking down at the theme park, and ahead into the distance.

Alexa: "Breathtaking, isn't it?"

Shawn: "I can think of something more breathtaking" I replied, still looking at her

Alexa: "really, what?" She asked gently, looking away from the view, and making eye contact with me.

Without saying anything else, I leaned in and kissed her. She kissed me back, but broke the kiss after about ten seconds.

Alexa: "oh" she chuckled, her cheeks turning red

Shawn: "yeah" I laughed, before pulling her into my arms.

She nestled her head into my chest. I kept one arm around her waist, and the other on her thigh. I pulled her in close as the cold summer wind blew into both of our faces, and we stayed like that for the remainder of the ride.

Alexa's POV:

We got off the ride, and I asked Shawn to wait for me while I quickly went to the washroom. He nodded, and I jogged to the washroom, in attempt of not making him wait too long. When I got back, I saw him standing exactly where I left him, except now he was holding a giant stuffed giraffe.

I ran to go meet up with him, laughing while doing so.

Alexa: "um...care to explain?" I said chuckling

Shawn: "I don't know, I saw it and thought I'd win it for you." He said shrugging, his cheeks turning red

He handed me the giraffe. I held it in one hand, and wrapped the other around his neck as I stood on my tippy toes to kiss him.

Alexa: "thank you, I love it" I whispered

Shawn: "I love you" he whispered back, our heads still close.

I leaned in and kissed him one more time before taking his hand in mine, and walking towards the car.
