As much as he tried to Sleep, Happy just couldn't. He watched her sleep in his arms and kept thinking of all the shit that had happened over the last couple of weeks. He'd known her for the better part of ten years and had been in love with her for most of that. Why did he wait so long to tell her how he felt? He was angry with himself and thought that if he had said something sooner than maybe she wouldn't be going through all this now.
He felt her stir and ran his hand along her back, hoping to lull her back to sleep. But to no avail she groaned as she looked up at him. "Hap? What's wrong, baby?" she asked sleepy.
Happy sighed and pulled her closer, kissing her temple. "Nothing, baby. Go back to sleep."
She took a deep breath and yawned. She could see right through him. "I think you forget I can read you like a book, killer. What's going through that bald head of yours?" she chided as she sat up.
He sighs as he sat up, swinging his legs over the edge of the bed. "I'm just overthinking shit." he said as he ran a hand over his head. "Maybe things would be different if I told you sooner, or if we got together after that one night." He looked over his shoulder to see her sitting on her knees.
She crawled over to him and slipped her arms around his torso and kissed the side of his neck. "Happy, you can't think about the what if's and everything else. Even if you told me sooner, or we got together back then, I still would be doing the work that I do." She explained. "You and I both know that."
"You were shot, Tasha." he said sadly. "I wasn't there to protect you."
"This wasn't your fault." she said. "Yea I was shot. But I could have been shot any other day, just as you could have been. The work you and I do, puts us in that danger and we wouldn't trade it for the world." She kissed his bare shoulder, as he held her hands in his.
"You and I both know that I would be in some sort of job that used everything I learned from the club. There's no way I could have a legit career. It's too boring." she said with a chuckle. "This is what I know how to do."
He nods as he leans into her, kissing her hands. "I know. Doesn't mean I like it." he huffs.
She kissed his cheek before getting up from the bed carefully and made her way out to the bar. She grabbed her laptop and on her way back to the room she took a bottle of Jack from the bar as she passed. When she got back, Happy looked at her with confusion written all over his face.
"Just gonna remind you of a few things." she said as she carefully climbed back onto the bed and made herself comfortable. She powered up the laptop and took a swig out of the bottle and handed it to Happy. After a few seconds of going through her laptop, she pulled up a document and turned it towards him. "Read it."
Happy's eyebrows shot up as he read what she had showed him. "I remember that job. You called me to help with disposal." he said as he read. "Wait.. you documented all this? That's evidence Tash."
She furrowed her brow and shook her head. "It's not evidence if Juice encrypted everything for me. What you're reading is insurance." she said matter of fact. "I keep a log of shit with every job I do. It's assurance that of something like this happens, I have some dirt and I can take them down."
Happy smirked as he watched her explain. "I knew you were smart. But why are you showing me all this?"
Her eyes soften and she rested a hand on his cheek. "I'm showing you all of this to ease your mind. This shit.. It's my guarantee that everything will go to plan. There's no way that Hale will let all of this out." she said. She kissed his lips softly, "Now lay down and rest your pretty little head."
"Pretty?" he drew his head back, "are you high?"
"Well I have been hopped up on painkillers, so it's a definite possibility." she laughed.
Happy chuckled and crashed his lips onto hers as he laid her back down onto the bed. HE pulled away and looked into her eyes and smiled. "I love you, little girl."
I love you too, Hap."

Happy was woken up by a crash coming from the main room of the clubhouse. He looked over at Tasha and saw she was still passed out and slipped out of the bed when he heard more noise. He grabbed his gun from his side table and crept out of the room, closing the door quietly.
Stalking down the hallway, he could make out the silhouette of a man, lurking around. He stood tall, with his gun aimed at the silhouettes head. "Who the fuck are you?" he growls.
The intruder turned, his gun ready to fire. Happy took no time in firing a shot into the man's knee, making him fall to the floor. He didn't want to kill him, he needed to get information out of him before he killed him. He rushed over to the man and kicked his gun out of reach. "Who the fuck are you?"
The man growled in pain as he ripped his hood off. Happy saw that it was the man from Hale's office. "We just want the girl." he confessed through gritted teeth.
Just as Happy was about to as another question he heard Tasha walking in. "What's going on?" she asked sleepily. Then noticed Happy with the man from Hale's office. Juice notices what's going on and immediately pulls Tasha behind him, giving Happy a reassuring look.
Happy turns back to the man and steps onto the bullet wound he had inflicted moments ago. "Who sent you?" he yelled.
"Hale
