As they walked into the house, Jax let the Nanny head home while Tasha followed Able to his room with Thomas. He was eager to show her all his new toys and wanted to show her that he still kept the teddy bear she had given him when Tara died on his bed to help take the bad dreams away.
She sat on the floor with Tommy on her lap as Abel sat across from her playing with his cars. She laughed as he made the vrooms and screeching of brakes. She saw so much of Jax in Abel that she smiled. While they were playing cars, Abel went on about starting school and his teacher. She marveled at how grown up he seemed and thought about all that he had gone through.
"He talks a mile a minute." Jax chuckled from the doorway.
Tasha nodded in agreement and chuckled too. "Reminds me of someone when they were a kid." she teased.
Jax nudged her with his foot. "I think you have me confused with Tommy." he laughed.
Tasha thought back to when they were kids and remembered her little brother fondly. He was so full of life. Even when he was sick. He always knew how to make them all laugh. "You know I think you're right."
Jax smiled and looked over to Abel. "Aunt Tasha is staying with us tonight. She's going to be in town for a little while. What do you think about that?" he asked.
Abel excitedly jumped up from the floor and cheered. "Can we have a pizza party?" he asked.
Tasha laughed and nodded. "Whatever you want, buddy."
It had been a fun night at the Tellers. A contrast to what it had been over the last year. Tasha was exhausted as she laid Thomas down in his new bed and tucked him in. She smiled as she turned the light off and closed the door softly heading for Abel's room. She had promised to tuck him in.
When she opened the door she saw him lying in bed talking to his bear. When he noticed her standing at the doorway he sat up. "Auntie, are you staying forever?" he asked as she laid him back down.
She ran a hand through his blonde hair and smiled at him. "I'm thinking about it." she said. She kissed his forehead and tucked him in tightly.
"I hope so. Daddy is happier with you here. He misses mommy and grandma." he said softly.
She held back her tears and kissed his cheek again. "I miss them too, buddy." she said as she stood from the bed. "You get some sleep, ok?"
He nodded and closed his eyes. Tasha turned out the light and headed out of the room.
Happy rode around the streets of Charming not knowing where he was going. The only thing he could focus on was Tasha and how he was going to tell her how he felt. He knew he had to. There was no doubt now. But when? His timing was shit. He pulled into Hannah's and unclipped his helmet, sighing he dismounted the bike and headed inside for a cup of coffee and think about what he was going to say.
Tasha walked into the living room with Jax and flopped down on the couch, opening her beer. "I forgot how exhausting those boys are." she chuckled before taking a long drink from her beer. As they sat in comfortable silence, Tasha notices Jax's eyebrows knitted together in deep thought. She scoffed as she sat up. "I'm not going anywhere Jax." she said to ease his mind. We'll figure this all out and I'll be fine. Stop worrying."
Jax gives her a sad smiled and looks at her. "We are going to figure this out." he agrees. "Then you're moving your ass back here. We need you here."
She chuckled, "Abel just asked me if I was staying." she said as she moved the magazines that were on the table so she could put her feet up and a couple of them fell. She bent down to pick them up seeing someone she thought looked familiar on the front of one of them.
Jax knew that look, the wheels were turning. "What's up? What are you thinking?" he asked.
Tasha didn't speak, but remembered something and headed for the kitchen where her hard drive was. Jax followed closely, still asking her what was going on. "I need to get back to the clubhouse." she said as she grabbed Jax's keys to his truck.
"You're not going anywhere alone, Tasha." Jax said as he took the keys from her hand.
She snapped out of her trance and grabbed her phone. She knew someone who would keep her safe that Jax would agree with. She dialed Happy's number and waited for him to pick up.
Happy was staring off into space sipping his coffee when he felt his phone vibrate in his pocket. He sighed as he pulled it out and looked at who was calling. He didn't recognize the number and furrowed his brow as he answered.
"Hap?" he heard over the line and immediately got up from his seat and slapped down a couple of bills and headed for the door. "I need you to come get me from Jax's."
"Be there in five minutes." he said as he closed the phone and started the bike. He heard panic in her voice which caused him to worry. What the hell was going on over there?
